About Our Client:
Addison Group is partnering with a growing healthcare organization seeking an experienced Patient Financial Services Lead to support a high-volume patient financial services team. This position is ideal for someone with strong patient account experience who enjoys resolving complex billing issues, mentoring team members, and delivering exceptional patient service.
Job Description:
The Patient Financial Services Lead serves as a senior resource for the Patient Financial Services team, helping resolve complex patient account issues while supporting daily operations. This is not a people management role , but rather a lead-level position responsible for handling escalated patient accounts, providing guidance to teammates, and ensuring patients receive accurate billing support.
The ideal candidate has a strong background working directly with patients, understands the revenue cycle, and is comfortable managing a high volume of inbound and outbound patient calls.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for escalated patient billing and account questions.
  • Handle a high volume of inbound and outbound patient calls regarding balances, payment options, billing inquiries, and account resolution.
  • Review and explain Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) and patient financial responsibility.
  • Establish and maintain payment plans while assisting patients with account resolution.
  • Process patient payments, credit card transactions, refunds, adjustments, and account reconciliations.
  • Maintain accurate patient demographic, guarantor, and insurance information.
  • Analyze patient accounts and A/R reports to identify opportunities for timely resolution.
  • Partner with internal departments, including billing, coding, payment posting, and accounts receivable, to resolve complex account issues.
  • Assist with onboarding, training, and coaching team members as needed.
  • Monitor quality, productivity, and workflow while supporting continuous process improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies and healthcare regulations.

Requirements:
  • 3+ years of recent Patient Financial Services or healthcare revenue cycle experience required.
  • Must have experience working directly with patients regarding billing, balances, and payment questions.
  • Experience handling 50-60+ patient calls per day preferred.
  • Strong understanding of EOBs, patient financial responsibility, payment plans, and patient account resolution.
  • Experience with patient billing, collections, and account follow-up.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and healthcare software systems.
  • Experience with Modernizing Medicine (ModMed) is a plus but not required.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
