Job description

To perform one on one visual observation of patients who are under a protective order such as a PEC, CEC, OPC, or JC.

Β Experience - None

Β Education - Highschool Diploma or G.E.D.

Β Training - Completion of a PEC Observer course upon employment

Β Special Skills - Good Communication and Customer Service Skills

Β Licensure - Completion of a PEC Observer Course upon employment

  • Communicating regularly with the patient's nurse and nursing staff regarding observations of the patient
  • Charting patient observations every 15 minutes
  • Completing paperwork required for observation of the patients
  • Alerting the nursing staff for anything that is noted to cause harm to the patient or other team members
  • Communicating regularly with the Security Staff regarding any Security concerns
  • Providing constant visual observation for patients that are under a protective order such as a PEC, CEC, OPC, or JC
