Central New Jersey Hospital-Based Leadership Opportunity

A well-established hospital in Central New Jersey is seeking a Medical Director of Pathology & Clinical Laboratory Services to lead a collaborative, high-functioning team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated pathologist looking to combine clinical practice with leadership responsibilities in a supportive, stable environment.

Position Highlights

Leadership role overseeing Pathology and Clinical Laboratory Services

  • Manage a team of 2 Pathologists and 1 Pathologist Assistant
  • Balanced role: 85% clinical sign-out / 15% administrative
  • General Surgical Pathology practice with manageable case volume
  • Participation in Tumor Board and on-call rotation
  • No autopsies required
  • On-site PA support for grossing
  • Collegial, team-oriented hospital environment

Qualifications

M.D. or D.O. with Board Certification in Anatomic & Clinical Pathology (AP/CP)

  • Active New Jersey medical license (or ability to obtain)
  • Minimum 2 years of Laboratory Director experience
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Experience with hospital operations, quality improvement, and medical staff functions
  • Cytopathology experience preferred, not required
