Job Description:

Pathology Assistant

Full-Time - M-F 8a-4:30p

Responsible for the activities of the office of Pathology. Performs general and advanced

clerical procedures on a routine basis within the Pathology Department.

Job Duties:

  • Prints, corrects and copies pathology reports and autopsy reports and distributes for outside consultation.
  • Types correspondence for pathologists and enters pathology charges in computer as needed.
  • Assists Pathologist or Physician's Assistant during gross examination of surgical specimens and frozen sections.
  • Performs daily histology duties to process surgical and make slide preparations.
  • Maintains proper storage of slides and blocks.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma/GED

Preferred Requirements:

  • Epic experience
  • Clerical experience
  • Lab experience
