Job description

Overview

JOB SUMMARY: Under the supervision of a board-certified pathologist, the Pathologists' Assistant will play a central role in the gross examinations and dissections of anatomic pathology specimens contributing to accurate and timely diagnoses for our patients.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Master of Health Sciences (MHS) or equivalent degree from an accredited Pathologists' Assistant Program. 

Experience: 1-2 years of experience in a high-volume surgical pathology laboratory preferred. Experience with intraoperative consultation and frozen section technique. Familiar with laboratory information system including CERNER and COPATH.

Knowledge and Skills: Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in specimen handling and documentation.  Strong written and verbal communication skills. Team player with a professional and patient-centered approach.  Commitment to ongoing professional development.

License/Certifications: PA (ASCP) Certification or eligible to sit for certification.  If eligible for certification, must obtain within one year of hire or transfer.

Equipment: Able to operate and maintain pathology equipment and instruments.

Physical Requirements: Must be able to perform the essential physical requirements of the job.

Pay Range:

$42.34-$63.50
