As a speech pathology supervisor, your responsibilities are to manage the speech-language department, including its therapists and patients, to ensure that each patient gets the proper clinical therapy for their challenges related to speech and language. Your duties include hosting training and continued education meetings, assessing speech-language pathologists (SLPs), analyzing patient records, assisting patients with coordinating their services, mentoring new SLP graduates, completing SLP department administrative tasks, and ensuring that each patient receives care according to state and federal guidelines and regulations. In these jobs, you work directly with the department director and are full-time during regular business hours.
