Job description

Position: Pathologists' Assistant
Location: Columbus, OH
43210
Assignment Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day shift, 5x8 hours (9:30 AM - 6:00 PM)

Traveler Status: Unit accepts first-time travelers (preference for experienced travelers)
Work Setting & Responsibilities:
  • Assignment based in the Doan Lab, receiving specimens from the University Hospital OR
  • Case mix is approximately 95% benign lesions, with some colon cancer resections and native livers
  • Involvement in procurement for research, including selecting tissue from POCs for karyotyping
  • Biopsy grossing as needed based on staffing
  • Depending on workload, some cancer cases from another lab may be sent to Doan, though the temp PA may primarily focus on benign cases and biopsies
Requirements:
  • PA (ASCP) certification
  • Minimum 2 years of experience
  • Completion of medical screening (vaccinations) and background check prior to start
