Job description

EF Adventures is a fast-growing adventure travel brand offering guided group tours for active travelers who want to experience the world differently - think hiking in Patagonia, biking through the Alps, and multi-adventure trips across the globe. We're building something special and moving fast, and we need sharp, ambitious people to help us do it.
The Role
This is not an execution-only role. We're looking for a Senior Copywriter who thinks strategically, writes beautifully, and is hungry to help build a brand from the ground up. You'll own the voice of EF Adventures across every channel - from high-level campaign strategy all the way down to reviewing an email subject line or a social caption.
On any given day, you could be in a strategy session shaping campaign concepts, writing landing page copy, refining brand messaging, or reviewing creative moments before it goes live. You'll move fluidly between big-picture thinking and detail-oriented execution - collaborating closely with a small creative team to bring ideas from concept to launch.
The range is part of the role. We're looking for someone who's energized by variety, comfortable wearing multiple hats, and excited to help define the voice and creative direction of a growing brand.
All candidates must submit a portfolio to be considered.
Who you are
  • You've honed your craft in an agency environment and know how to move fast, juggle multiple projects, and deliver great work under pressure
  • You think in strategy and big ideas before you think in words - you understand why you're writing something before you write it
  • You have experience building or growing a brand's voice from an early stage - not just maintaining one
  • You're as comfortable presenting a campaign concept as you are editing an email draft - you move fluidly between big picture and detail
  • You have a point of view and you're not afraid to bring it to the table
  • You're energized by adventure travel - you get what moves someone to book a trip to Patagonia or bike through the Alps
  • You're curious about people - you dig into consumer insights and audience data to understand what moves our travelers, and you use that understanding to create work that truly resonates

What you'll do
Brand & Strategy
  • Help define, evolve, and protect the EF Adventures brand voice, tone, and storytelling system as the company scales.
  • Lead campaign ideation and messaging strategy in close partnership with creative, design, and marketing teams.
  • Contribute meaningfully to brand and creative strategy discussions, not just executional output.
  • Act as a creative thought partner to the ACD and broader team on concept development, narrative direction, and integrated storytelling.
  • Translate business and marketing priorities into clear content strategies and messaging frameworks that ladder into cohesive, cross-channel creative.
  • Partner with creative and marketing leadership to develop strategic, insight-driven campaign concepts and brand messaging.
  • Shape messaging architectures and customer narratives that strengthen brand positioning and audience engagement.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to align creative work with broader business goals, customer experience, and growth initiatives.
  • Bring a proactive, entrepreneurial mindset to creative problem-solving within a fast-paced startup environment.
  • Present and articulate creative rationale, messaging strategy, and conceptual thinking clearly to stakeholders and leadership.
  • Stay informed on cultural trends, audience behavior, travel industry insights, and emerging content opportunities to continuously elevate creative output.

Copy & Content
  • Own and write copy across all key channels, including email, paid media, social, landing pages, tour pages, blog, print, CRM, and integrated campaigns.
  • Lead copy development from concept through execution while maintaining consistency in voice, tone, quality, and storytelling.
  • Ensure all outward-facing copy is on-brand, high quality, strategically aligned, and conversion-aware through strong editorial oversight and creative judgment.
  • Work with the ACD and marketing team to develop clear, strategic creative briefs that enable effective, insight-driven creative execution.
  • Develop compelling customer-focused messaging tailored to different audiences, channels, and stages of the customer journey.
  • Create campaign headlines, taglines, long-form storytelling, and supporting content that drive engagement and business impact.
  • Partner with marketing to ensure content is optimized for digital performance, SEO, and AI-powered discovery/search.
  • Build and refine AI-assisted copy workflows to help scale content production without compromising craft, creativity, or brand integrity.
  • Collaborate closely with designers and cross-functional partners to develop cohesive, high-quality creative assets and campaigns.
  • Edit and proofread content to ensure clarity, accuracy, consistency, and alignment with brand standards.
  • Manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Incorporate stakeholder feedback, performance insights, and audience learnings to continuously improve messaging effectiveness and content quality.

What you have
  • 7-10+ years of copywriting experience, including 5+ years of agency experience
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating both strategic thinking and high-level craft across multiple channels
  • Experience helping build or evolve a brand voice - comfortable working in early-stage or brand transformation environments
  • Proven ability to operate across levels of the creative process: strategy, concepting, writing, and refinement
  • Strong understanding of digital performance marketing and conversion-driven copywriting
  • Thrives in a fast-moving, lean, high-ownership environment with shifting priorities
  • Genuine interest in travel, storytelling, and the EF Adventures mission
  • Bonus: experience with AI writing tools and scalable content systems/workflows

But it's what we do together - building greater understanding, breaking down barriers, and creating a better world - that makes all the difference.
