Riverview Alliance ChurchAssociate Pastor of DiscipleshipMinistry ProfilePosition Summary

The purpose of this position is to facilitate the spiritual growth of men, women and children of Riverview Alliance Church. Working as a team with the Lead Pastor and Elders, the role of the Associate Pastor is to coordinate, oversee and provide leadership for outreach, evangelism and spiritual growth ministries directed towards the younger families, young adults, youth and children in Oconto Falls and the surrounding area.

Responsibilities
  • To work as a team with the Lead Pastor and Elders.
  • Outreach and Evangelism: The Associate Pastor will be involved in developing outreach & evangelism ministries that will directly target the young families of Oconto Falls and the surrounding area.
  • Discipleship: The Associate Pastor will develop and oversee discipleship ministries for our children, youth, and young adult and young families. Note: Although this is not a “Youth Pastor” position, the Associate Pastor will oversee and be involved in the youth ministries.
  • Social Media: The Associate Pastor will lead in developing a Social Media presence for Riverview Alliance Church.
  • Worship: The Associate Pastor will attend and be directly involved in the worship ministries of Riverview Alliance Church.
  • Preaching/Teaching: The Associate Pastor will fill the pulpit of Riverview Alliance Church as necessary and in coordination with the Lead Pastor.
  • Other Ministries: The Associate Pastor may be asked to participate or officiate at weddings; funerals; baptisms and community events.
  • On occasion, the Associate Pastor may also be asked to assist in other ministries within the church.
Qualifications
  • The person called to this ministry must have the qualifications of an Elder, as outlined in 1 Timothy 3.
  • He must be in agreement with the Christian and Missionary Alliance (C&MA) statement of faith.
  • He must be licensed by the C&MA
  • He must be ordained or be willing to begin the ordination process of the C&MA
Characteristics
  • The pastor called to this ministry must have a professed faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior of his life.
  • He must be fully committed to serving the Lord Jesus Christ and living under His Lordship.
  • He must be a student of the Word of God.
  • He must be committed to personal, spiritual transformation and growth.
  • If married, he must lead a godly family.
  • He must be self-motivated.
  • He must have a passion for the lost.
  • He must be able to develop caring relationships with young families and youth.
  • He must be willing to submit to those in authority over him
Accountability
  • The Associate Pastor will be directly accountable to the Lead Pastor
  • He will be expected to give a monthly report to the Governing Board of the Riverview Alliance Church.
  • He will participate and contribute as needed in Elder’s meetings
