Valley Bible Chalet (Indian/Anchorage, AK) – Pastor


The Big Picture

Valley Bible Chalet (https://www.vbchalet.org) is seeking a Pastor.



Requirements

Church Description:

Valley Bible Chalet is an independent Bible church that serves the local community, with attendees also traveling from Anchorage and Girdwood. The regular attendance of the close-knit church family is approximately 30 people. The church family values a traditional hymn-based worship with piano and organ. The church is located about 20 miles East of Anchorage, Alaska, near the Indian Creek crossing of the Seward Highway. The original church on the location began meeting in 1968.


Job Description:

Duties/Roles and Responsibilities:

1. Prayerfully and biblically lead the church.

2. Plan Sunday services to include hymn selections, scripture reading, worship

structure, and any special elements (programs, special music, missionary

presentations, baptisms, etc.).

3. Lead the Sunday service.

4. Prepare and deliver the sermon at the Sunday service.

5. Help plan and select materials for adult Sunday school and biblically mentor

members of the congregation to teach. This role may expand to children’s Sunday

school as well although that currently is not the case.

6. Serve as the interface with the 6 missionaries that the church supports.

7. Stay personally connected with the congregation and provide biblical counseling and support to church members on an as-needed basis.

8. Mentor church elders and deacons in the functions and mission of the church.

9. Participate in bi-annual church business meetings to and provide the pastor’s report.

10. Conduct water baptisms, weddings, and funerals on an as-needed basis.





Benefits

The Compensation

$60,000 Salary plus Parsonage – We are open to this being full time or part time.
