Key Responsibilities
As Finance Director you will be responsible for promota culture that aligns with our Core Values of Protect, Respect, and Connect through open and honest communication in adherence with all policies and procedures including HESS protocols and Financial controls.
Financial Audits & Control:
  • Lead audits of cash accounts, guest and teammate folios, receipts, and payment vouchers to ensure adherence to company policies and procedures.
  • Ensure accurate balance of onboard revenue systems (PMS vs. POS) and execute settlements with third-party vendors as per corporate agreements.

Guest & Crew Transactions:
  • Oversee ATM operations, credit card settlements, and ensure timely processing of all financial documentation for legal port authorities.

Cash Management:
  • Maintain strict oversight of cash flows onboard, including reviewing large cash transactions, overseeing ATM operations, and authorizing cash orders in accordance with the banking schedule.

Inventory Control & Management:
  • Supervise regular inventory counts, ensure accuracy in the inventory system, and resolve discrepancies in partnership with department heads.

Guest Satisfaction:
  • Handle financial guest issues, offering prompt resolutions in line with Princess Cruises' service excellence programs.
  • Support guest satisfaction by ensuring all financial transactions are processed smoothly and efficiently.

Staff Development:
  • Manage and mentor a team of financial staff, providing coaching, training, and feedback to promote development, knowledge, and skills.
  • Ensure the department's adherence to operational and safety standards.

Compliance & Reporting:
  • Review and ensure compliance with MSPM Financial Policies & Procedures.
  • Perform internal audits, oversee balance sheets, and investigate any financial discrepancies or variances.

Communication & Collaboration:
  • Maintain open communication with shoreside finance support, hotel management, and other onboard departments.
  • Participate in regular team meetings and offer ideas for continuous improvement.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
  • Proven experience in financial management, accounting, or a similar leadership role in the hospitality or cruise industry.
  • Strong understanding of financial audits, cash flow management, inventory control, and relevant financial software.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to coach, mentor, and motivate staff.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, able to liaise effectively with senior management, external partners, and guests.
  • Detail-oriented, with strong problem-solving skills and a commitment to upholding company standards.
