The Wishing Hour Co. is a premier children's character entertainment company creating magical experiences for birthday parties, schools, community events, corporate events, and special celebrations throughout New Jersey, New York City, and the Philadelphia area.

We're looking for energetic, dependable performers who love working with children and enjoy bringing beloved characters to life.

No costume or professional acting experience is required—we're looking for enthusiastic, dependable performers with great personalities. We provide training and costumes for the right candidates.

Responsibilities

  • Portray a variety of princess, superhero, mascot, and themed characters while remaining in character throughout each event.
  • Create engaging, interactive, and memorable experiences for children and families.
  • Lead games, dancing, sing-alongs, storytelling, and age-appropriate activities.
  • Pose for photos and interact with guests in a fun, professional, and enthusiastic manner.
  • Arrive on time, prepared, and maintain a polished appearance.
  • Assist with costume care and handle company property responsibly.
  • Represent The Wishing Hour Co. with professionalism and exceptional customer service.

Qualifications

We're looking for performers who are:

  • Friendly, outgoing, and energetic
  • Comfortable performing in front of children and large groups
  • Passionate about creating magical memories
  • Reliable and punctual
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Available primarily on weekends, with occasional weekday events
  • Willing to travel throughout New Jersey, New York City, and the Philadelphia area with reliable transportation ( will be compensated for milage)
  • Able to pass a background check
  • Comfortable wearing character costumes (generally Small or Medium)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Acting, theatre, musical theatre, improv, or dance experience
  • Singing ability
  • Experience working with children
  • Party entertainment experience
  • Face painting, balloon twisting, or similar entertainment skills
