Job description

Schedule: Monday-Thursday, 10 hours & Friday, 5.5 hours OR Monday-Thursday 12 hours
Position Summary
This role is working with Engineering to coordinate all production and post processing activities. The Engineering Technician will create CNC code that performs a capable, repeatable process, perform process troubleshooting, process improvements, validations, qualifications, and change control.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Interpret print and models, create CNC programs and set up machines to produce the component for Swiss or Milling machine centers
  • Select cutting tools that will achieve cost effective tool life and fully utilize the tool
  • Develop a process that is capable, cost effective and sustainable
  • Write work instructions and procedures to support the process
  • Full understanding of G-code
  • Advocate and implement the highest quality standards and LEAN principles
  • Assess and communicate technical specifications to all departments
  • Identify and complete continuous improvement projects
    • Cycle time reduction
    • Perishable tooling selection and cost reduction
  • Create and coordinate engineering tests
  • Perform quality assurance tests to ensure specification compliance
  • Assist/or develop in the development of tool design and CNC programming
  • Modify through change control, BOM/BOO within the ERP system
  • Assist with all costing and quoting functions - for tooling
  • Resolve daily manufacturing issues per LEAN structure
  • Maintain machining and secondary operational processes
  • All other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:
  • 2 - 3 years of experience in technical field
  • Experience with CAD and CAM software - preferably Solid works, NX and Esprit
  • Proficient PC skills in a Windows environment, especially word and excel
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in the design and selection of fixturing and tooling for complex parts
  • Experience in a precision manufacturing shop environment
  • LEAN / Six Sigma training and demonstrated application
  • Experience working within an ISO 13485 environment
  • Ability to travel between Precera sites as needed

Compensation and Benefits Overview
Starting Pay Range for this position is $33-$44/Hour
Minimum pay rates offered will comply with applicable county or city regulations if they exceed the listed range. Actual pay rates are determined based on various factors, including but not limited to, local labor market conditions, years of relevant experience, education, professional certifications, foreign language proficiency, and other job-specific qualifications.
