Line or Bait Production Operator (Part-Time)
What Will You Do?
As a part-time Line or Bait Production Operator, you will support production needs in one of two departments based on your assignment: the Spooling Department (line side) or the Bait Packaging Department (bait side). You will perform equipment set-up, maintenance, troubleshooting, or hands-on assembly and packaging tasks to help ensure safe, efficient production of high-quality fishing products.
This role offers a flexible part-time schedule: Monday-Thursday, minimum 6 hours per day, less than 30 hours per week. 1st shift pay is $18.60 per hour. 2nd shift pay includes a $2.50 shift differential.
Position Responsibilities:
If assigned to the Line (Spooling) Department:
  • Perform set-up operations on spoolers, labelers, printers, and other production equipment.
  • Make routine machine adjustments and troubleshoot quality issues as they arise.
  • Assist with preventive maintenance and equipment repairs as needed.
  • Work at various workstations throughout the department based on production needs.
  • Maintain production records, run sheets, and other required documentation.
  • Conduct product and equipment testing to verify quality and performance.
  • Assist with equipment set-up and troubleshooting to minimize downtime.

If assigned to the Bait Packaging Department:
  • Assemble and package soft vinyl baits to support mass-production pace lines.
  • Follow production orders and make quick decisions based on product specifications.
  • Maintain accurate counts, packaging quality, and pace line efficiency.
  • Work collaboratively with team members to meet production goals.
  • Perform light equipment or workstation adjustments as needed.

General Responsibilities:
  • Follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
  • Support changing production needs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What Makes You a Great Catch?
You are dependable, detail-oriented, and able to work independently while supporting a team-focused environment. You enjoy hands-on work, can follow instructions, and adapt quickly to changing production needs.
Additional qualifications include:
  • Manual dexterity and comfort working with manufacturing equipment.
  • Ability to lift up to 60 pounds occasionally (line side) or up to 25 pounds (bait side).
  • Ability to apply common sense and carry out detailed written and verbal instructions.
  • Problem-solving skills for situations involving multiple or limited variables in standardized conditions.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must not be colorblind (bait side requirement).
  • Willingness to support changing production needs and collaborate with team members.

What You Will Need to Succeed:
  • Six (6) to twelve (12) months of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
  • Ability to add and subtract three-digit numbers and perform multiplication and division.
  • Mechanical aptitude and experience working with manufacturing equipment preferred.
