Job description

Purpose and role of job:

Responsible for overseeing the Parts Department. Duties include inventory management & control, sourcing of parts, price comparison/control and internal/external customer service

Principal Accountabilities/ Responsibilities:

· Leads and over sees the Parts Room

· Works directly with Maintenance and Operational staff for inventory analysis to ensure appropriate stock quantities are met and sustained.

· Ensures inventory accuracy and integrity by using a PC based parts control system.

· Reviews and adjusts system generated parts requisitions as needed to ensure accuracy

· Creates and maintains a logical storage scheme for all stocked parts

· Label stocked parts in such a way to ensure “Search: consistency between similar types of parts by maintaining a labeling structure

· Provides accurate record keeping and neatly completes all required paperwork in a timely manner

· Places stock and emergency orders with various vendors while working closely with Maintenance, Maintenance Leaders, and PFN Purchasing Department

· Determines the need for New Part purchases vs Part Rebuilds based on cost comparison and/or availability

· Identifies and relays any parts related sourcing concerns directly to Maintenance leadership

· Assists with the training of internal customers to locate parts in the system, perform proper check-outs, and emphasizes the importance of following company guidelines with respect to the Parts Room

· Actively assist others in the identification of unknown and/or new parts and finding an appropriate vendor.

· Performs general housekeeping for the spare parts room

· Performs other duties as necessary when directed to do so.

· Reviews and adjusts system-generated requisitions for stock items.

· Places stock and emergency orders with vendors while working closely with Stock Room Supervisor and PFN Purchasing Department.

· Assists with the training of customers in locating parts in the system, performs

Education and experience requirements:

· HS diploma or equivalent required

· Minimum 5 years of Parts Room/Inventory experience required

· Minimum 5 years’ experience with CMMS systems required

· Prior knowledge of a parts inventory control system

· Excellent computer skills set required

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary as well as excellent organizational skills

· Ability to work directly with all levels of personnel in a respectful and professional manner

· Ability to prioritize work assignments with a sense of urgency

· Operational knowledge of Microsoft Office Products to include Excel, Power Point, and Microsoft Office

Work Environment:

Observes all safety rules and uses the proper safety equipment at all times.

Physical Requirements:

Must adhere to PPE requirements; steel toe shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection, ability to wear a green vest and bump cap when needed.
