Job Summary:

The Parts Manager oversees all aspects of the dealership's parts operations. This position is responsible for inventory management, departmental profitability, customer satisfaction, vendor relations, and personnel leadership. The Parts Manager will work closely with the service and sales departments to ensure timely parts availability and help drive dealership performance and customer retention.


Key Responsibilities:Inventory Management
  • Maintain an optimal level of inventory to support service and retail needs while minimizing obsolescence.

  • Conduct annual physical inventory and regular cycle counts.

  • Ensure proper inventory reconciliation and reporting.

  • Manage special orders and returns to minimize cost.

Customer Service
  • Ensure a high level of internal (service and sales departments) and external customer satisfaction.

  • Address and resolve customer concerns or complaints quickly and professionally.

  • Promote add-on and accessory sales through effective merchandising and suggestive selling.

Team Management
  • Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate parts department staff.

  • Promote a culture of accountability, customer focus, and continuous improvement.

  • Schedule and delegate tasks to maintain efficient department coverage.

Vendor and Manufacturer Relations
  • Maintain positive relationships with manufacturers and vendors.

  • Negotiate favorable pricing and terms for parts purchases.

  • Ensure accurate and timely submission of manufacturer claims and returns.

Financial Performance
  • Monitor department profitability and expenses against monthly forecasts.

  • Review and analyze departmental financial statements.

  • Enforce Graff Automotive Group policies and procedures including matrix pricing, cost plus guidelines, and warranty submission practices.


Qualifications:
  • 3–5 years of experience in an automotive dealership parts department (management preferred).

  • Proven leadership skills and ability to manage a team in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong knowledge of DMS platforms and inventory software.

  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to interpret financial reports and manage budgets.

  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.


Performance Goals:
  • Maintain parts inventory turn ratio in accordance with store goals.

  • Keep obsolete parts under 9 months unless maintained for special programs

  • Target service absorption benchmarks in collaboration with service management.

  • Contribute to customer satisfaction scores through on-time parts delivery and support.
