Position Summary:
At Kriete Truck Centers, our Front Parts Counter Associates play a critical role in delivering exceptional service to our customers by assisting them with any of their parts needs. This process can include helping customers locate the correct parts, processing orders efficiently, and maintaining accurate records. Our Parts Counter Associates are also critical to our service departments' ability to deliver excellence by assisting in the parts ordering or pulling process when needed.
In this primarily customer-facing role, our Front Parts Counter Associates have a unique opportunity to develop and grow new, strong relationships while maintaining long-standing relationships with key customers. Our ideal candidate will be someone who is energetic, customer-focused, has a strong team-oriented approach, with a commitment to excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver friendly, professional, and efficient service to both customers and fellow team members, ensuring a positive customer experience at every interaction.
  • Assist customers in selecting required parts, advise on any needed companion parts, communicate current promotions or pricing specials, and provide timely updates on order status including notifying customers when orders are ready for pickup or delivery.
  • Respond to customer inquiries quickly with accurate information, including price quotes, product availability, and part specifications if needed.
  • Accurately pull, package, and prepare parts for customer pickup or delivery, ensuring orders are processed correctly and on time.
  • Communicate effectively with the parts manager regarding any out-of-stock parts, special orders, and back-orders, working together to find creative solutions to meet customer needs.
  • Submit emergency parts orders when necessary and promptly notify customers when their orders are ready.
  • Maintain accurate records of estimates, invoices, and special orders contributing to an organized and efficient parts department.
  • Participate in training programs to stay current on product knowledge, OEM updates, and vendor offerings ensuring we provide top-notch service.
  • Keep the parts counter, desk, and inventory area clean, organized, and free of clutter contributing to a workplace culture of pride and excellence.
  • Support the parts manager in maintaining a lost sales tracking program to improve future availability and enhance our customer satisfaction.
  • Uphold Kriete Truck Centers' high standards of professionalism, teamwork, and respect in all interactions.
  • Any additional duties as assigned by department manager.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Ability to navigate an array of digital tools to support our customers' and inventory needs.
  • Physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform tasks such as walking, reaching, kneeling, climbing, and standing for extended periods.
  • Forklift operation experience is a plus but not required.
  • Attention to detail when inspecting parts or processing customer orders, ensuring accuracy and satisfaction.
  • Ability to safely operate machines, motor vehicles, hand tools, and job specific equipment or tools as needed.

Education and Work Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Valid drivers license with clean driving record required.
  • Prior experience in parts sales, inventory management, or parts software is preferred but not required.
  • Experience in a customer-facing role is highly desirable, with a demonstrated ability to build relationships and provide value-added service.
