Position Summary:
At Kriete Truck Centers, our Back Counter Parts Associates play a crucial role in supporting the efficiency of our service department by providing technicians with the parts they need to complete repairs quickly and accurately. In this role, you will be responsible for managing parts requests from our technicians, ensuring parts are pulled, organized, and delivered promptly. As a key member of the team, you will directly impact our service department's ability to meet customer expectations and deadlines by maintaining a smooth flow of parts to the technicians. Your attention to detail, quick response time, and reliability will be essential in ensuring the continued success of our service operations.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver fast, reliable, and accurate parts service to technicians minimizing downtime in the service department.
  • Assist technicians in selecting the right parts for their repair jobs, advising on compatible components and any additional parts that may be required for the task.
  • Maintain an up-to-date and accurate inventory of parts needed for regular repairs and service work, working proactively to anticipate needs and minimize delays.
  • Communicate effectively with technicians and the parts manager regarding parts availability, back-orders, and any special requests to ensure parts are obtained in a timely manner.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring parts are stored correctly to avoid damage or confusion.
  • Collaborate with the service department to track and monitor parts usage, inventory levels, and any lost sales or parts shortages, helping to resolve issues quickly.
  • Ensure all records, including parts orders, invoices, and special requests, are accurately documented and kept up-to-date for internal tracking and reporting.
  • Participate in training programs to stay current on product knowledge, OEM updates, and vendor offerings to provide accurate and helpful support to technicians.
  • Uphold Kriete Truck Centers' high standards of professionalism, teamwork, and respect in all interactions.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the department manager.

Qualifications & Skills:
  • Strong work ethic with a proactive attitude, thriving in a fast-paced environment where quick decision-making and accuracy are crucial.
  • Excellent customer service skills, with a focus on meeting the needs of technicians and supporting their efficiency through timely and accurate parts deliveries.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow through on tasks to ensure parts are delivered correctly the first time.
  • Proficient computer skills, including the ability to use dealer management and inventory software quickly and accurately.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform tasks such as walking, reaching, kneeling, climbing, and standing for extended periods.
  • Experience operating a forklift is a plus but not required.
  • Ability to safely operate machines, motor vehicles, hand tools, and job-specific equipment when necessary.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks at once.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to collaborate with technicians and other team members efficiently.

Education & Work Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record required.
  • Prior experience in parts sales, inventory management, or parts software is preferred but not required.
  • Previous experience in a customer-facing or technician-support role is highly desirable, with a demonstrated ability to meet urgent needs and solve problems under pressure.
