Ready to shape the future of science and global health? A global nonprofit that provides trusted biological materials for science and health, ATCC is hiring a Director, Partnerships.

The Director, Partnerships leads the development and execution of strategic commercial partnerships that support ATCC's commercial strategy, scientific mission, and growth objectives. This remote position works closely with Commercial leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to identify, evaluate, negotiate, and implement partnerships, licensing opportunities, strategic alliances, and other growth initiatives across ATCC's physical and digital offerings. The role leads a small partnerships team while guiding complex transactions from opportunity identification through execution and value realization.

We are seeking a Director, Partnerships, ideally with a background in strategic partnerships or business development and experience supporting commercial, scientific, biotechnology, or life sciences environments. Responsibilities
  • Partnership Strategy: Develop and execute a strategic partnerships roadmap that advances ATCC's commercial objectives, scientific mission, and long-term growth priorities.
  • Business Development & Market Engagement: Identify, cultivate, and manage a pipeline of partnership, licensing, collaboration, and corporate development opportunities through industry networking, market intelligence, relationship building, and targeted outreach.
  • Strategic Partnerships & Alliances: Lead the assessment, structuring, negotiation, and implementation of strategic partnerships, licensing agreements, technology collaborations, and other growth-oriented initiatives.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Collaborate with Commercial, Science, Product Management, Finance, Legal, Licensing, Quality, Operations, Information Technology, and other stakeholders to evaluate opportunities and align partnership strategies with organizational priorities.
  • Strategic Commercial Partnerships & Growth Initiatives: Identify and prioritize strategic partnership opportunities that expand capabilities, offerings, or market reach, while evaluating partnership models that support ATCC's commercial objectives.
  • Partnership Performance & Team Leadership: Lead and develop the partnerships team while establishing governance, performance metrics, reporting, and portfolio management practices to maximize partnership value and organizational impact.
Qualifications
  • Minimum Requirement: Bachelor's degree and 15 or more years' experience, including 8 or more years' supervisory experience or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated experience leading strategic partnerships, alliances, licensing arrangements, and related commercial growth transactions that drive business development objectives.
  • Experience developing business cases, valuation approaches, financial models, scenario analyses, and risk assessments to support investment and prioritization decisions.
  • Strong experience leading complex negotiations, transaction structuring, diligence activities, and agreement development with cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Ability to assess capability, technology, content, data, and market-access opportunities that support strategic business objectives.
  • Experience establishing governance frameworks, performance measures, dashboards, reporting processes, and partnership portfolio management practices.
  • Demonstrated success leading teams, developing talent, and coordinating cross-functional partnership teams in complex organizational environments.
  • Preferred: Experience within biotechnology, pharmaceutical, life sciences, scientific research, technology, or related industries.
Benefits

The expected salary range for this position is $170,000-$215,000 annually. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience and qualifications as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. In addition to base salary, this role may be eligible for additional incentive compensation including regular merit increases and the corporate bonus program.
