About the Virtus Innovation Center

The Virtus Innovation Center is a first-of-its-kind hub being built from the ground up at National Landing, launching at a pivotal moment for technology and national security. Our center brings together startups, corporate partners, and capital to advance the critical technologies supporting our nation's most important interests. Interns will work alongside experienced founders, innovation center leaders, and venture capital professionals — gaining mentorship and real-world exposure that few early-career opportunities can match.


Startup Recruitment & Partnerships Intern


Location: National Landing, VA | Duration: Summer 2026 | Level: Undergrad / Graduate Student

Schedule: Part-Time or Full-Time | Work Setting: Hybrid / In-Person Preferred (Remote Considered)


Overview

This internship places you at the heart of Virtus' growth strategy. Working directly alongside the Director, you will help recruit and onboard innovative startups, cultivate sponsor relationships, and build the operational infrastructure that sets our members up for success. If you are driven, organized, and excited about the intersection of entrepreneurship, partnerships, and national security technology, this role is for you.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support new member recruitment efforts, including managing the applicant pipeline and new member onboarding.
  • Serve as a resource for current members by connecting them with partner organizations and support services.
  • Assist in recruiting sponsors and partners, including supporting the drafting and execution of partnership agreements.
  • Help service existing sponsors and partners to ensure partnership obligations are fulfilled and member needs are met.
  • Contribute to the design and build-out of programs that support founders and members throughout their journey.
  • Help develop and optimize operational systems, including member application workflows and onboarding processes.
  • Support and coordinate tours of the center for prospective members and sponsors.


Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a highly organized, relationship-oriented student with strong communication skills and an interest in entrepreneurship, business development, or technology. Experience with project management, partnerships, or business operations is a plus. A genuine enthusiasm for connecting people and building community is essential.
