What You'll Do
Epic is seeking a Partnerships Director to lead, grow, and execute key partnerships across the sport industry and talent for our first party games. This role will lead the sourcing, development, and execution of interactive IP integrations with top global elements of sports - Athletes, Teams, Leagues, Sporting Moments while also supporting with cultural efforts at large (Brands and Talent) - combining business development, creative deal-making, and product collaboration to bring authentic sports experiences to life across Epic's ecosystem. It's a unique opportunity to help shape industry-defining experiences and expand Epic's cultural impact through world-class partnerships in sports culture and more.
In this role, you will
  • Lead day-to-day engagement with external partners, to understand their overall goals and ensure all campaign elements reflect both partner objectives and Epic's brand and legal standards
  • Act as Epic's external face within the sports industry, developing strong relationships with leagues, talent agencies, athletes, and brand partners, and representing Epic at major industry events and summits
  • Partner closely with Product and Consumer teams to ensure partnership initiatives align with Epic's broader player, product, and business objectives - having a seat at the table, influencing product strategy into actionable roadmaps and measurable outcomes for commercial outcomes
  • Collaborate with development and creative teams to identify, pitch, and translate sports partnership ideas into compelling gameplay offerings across titles like Fortnite and Rocket League
  • Direct, source, and negotiate new sports partnerships while managing inbound and outbound licensing opportunities across sports and entertainment
  • Manage end-to-end execution of partnership campaigns, serving as the key liaison and coordinating with cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery, asset management, go-to-market support, and streamlined partner communication
  • Collaborate with Epic teams to identify, pitch, and onboard high-profile partnerships for Fortnite, from proposal and presentation through execution and launch
What we're looking for
  • 8-10+ years of experience in sports partnerships and talent deal-making, with a track record of closing and executing high-profile deals
  • Deep understanding of the sports and talent landscape - leagues, teams, talent, and agencies - with robust understanding of digital consumer products and gaming culture. Must have led partnership marketing, product, or gaming campaign execution
  • Existing sports, music, talent industry eminence and relationships, with sharp POV on how to creatively position and storytell with these audiences
  • Proven experience in taking product ideas to vision/pitch - requiring strategy background combined with business development, business affairs, and partnership execution. Must have demonstrated experience in sourcing/pitching new opportunities, and driving complex deals from concept to execution
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to multitask across projects while managing shifting priorities calmly and discreetly with senior cross-functional teams
  • Use of good judgment, delegation, critical thinking, problem-solving skills and collaboration, especially in stressful situations, and with the ability to remain calm under pressure, is essential
  • Experience building internal and external-facing partnership overviews, go-to-market plans, decks, recaps, and other presentations preferred
  • Proven history of demonstrated P&L fluency, along with understanding of full marketing funnel and analytics involved in licensing activations
  • Entrepreneurial self-starter who represents Epic with credibility and momentum across partners and categories.
  • Comfortable with frequent travel (25~40%) for meetings, events, and industry engagements
