Business Development Manager

Weiland’s Business Development Managers are relationship-oriented professionals who identify and build new client partnerships while maintaining existing ones, and boost Weiland’s presence in key markets. They should be focused and driven to find projects within Weiland’s core market sectors and geographic regions.

Additional responsibilities include performing market research and competitor analysis to spot emerging trends and sector growth opportunities, cultivating and maintaining a robust network of architects, engineers, and developers to stay ahead of upcoming projects, and maintaining consistent contact with current trade partners while building relationships with new ones in existing and emerging areas of work.

 

Experience, Skills and Abilities for the Business Development Manager Position

  • 3 years of experience in marketing, business, or similar role.
  • Construction experience preferred.
  • Manage opportunity pipeline of 12-20 projects at a given time.
  • Close 2-3 sales per year with preferred volume of $10-25M.
  • Attend networking and community events to facilitate good community relations.
  • Proactively identify and qualify leads through networking, cold-calling, and attendance at industry events.
  • Assist and support the Operations and Marketing teams in identifying and securing trade partner interest for project proposals.

This is an in-office position supporting Wieland’s Michigan and Louisiana project portfolio, with travel to project sites as needed.
