Parent Partnership Coordinator

LaAmistad's Parent Partnership addresses the need for a holistic and culturally responsive approach to supporting student educational success. The Parent Partnership Coordinator works alongside the Afterschool Team and is responsible for establishing and managing the Parent Partnership Program goals. The Coordinator will work directly with LaAmistad’s team of Parent Liaisons to empower parents to be active participants in their child’s education, identify and share resources that students and families need to thrive educationally, socially, and personally, and ensure continuous improvement and growth in the services LaAmistad provides to the community it serves.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Manage Parent Partnership Program and, lead Parent Ambassador Program
  • Hire, train, manage, and support Parent Liaisons
  • Respond to parent inquiries
  • Cover/substitute at Afterschool Locations as needed
  • Visit Afterschool locations weekly to ensure program quality
  • Actively seek community resources, learning opportunities and partnerships to support students and families and share this information with parents
  • Work closely with the Afterschool Manager and Academic Coordinators to support programming goals and needs
  • Organize and host virtual Parent Workshops (2x/month)
  • Collaborate on Spanish newsletter content for parents/families
  • Lead monthly team meetings and conduct staff evaluations
  • Update Parent Partnership Handbook, Parent Liaison Handbook, Manuals and Guides
  • Collect program data (workshop attendance, referrals, incoming and outgoing donations, etc.)
  • Support the staff with communications as needed
  • Translate organization documents to Spanish as needed
  • Review and approve employee timesheets
  • Answer incoming calls
  • Own all summer camp enrollment and registration
  • This role will manage a team of over 10 people and do a variety of tasks.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in education, social work, or related field OR a combination of education and experience
  • Experience as a supervisor/manager
  • Native fluency in Spanish and English (reading, writing, listening, and speaking)
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Suite including Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams
  • Experience with Zoom technology
  • Experience working with schools and/or families and children
  • Knowledge and understanding of issues and dynamics within diverse families
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • At least 3 years of management experience
