Overview

Location: Weston, FL

Department: Loading/Outbound Dock

Shift: Monday - Friday, 4:00pm - Complete

The Loading Manager is a key leader responsible for directing, optimizing, and executing daily distribution and/or transportation activities within assigned market areas. This includes operational oversight of one or more functions such as receiving, order fulfillment, shipping/loadout, and/or transportation.

The role owns P&L performance for the assigned area, with accountability for staffing, cost control, safety, service, and the achievement of key performance indicators (KPIs). The Loading Manager ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements and company policies while maintaining a strong culture of safety.

This position partners closely with site and regional leadership to design, refine, and implement work processes that improve productivity, quality, and overall efficiency. As a member of the leadership team, the Loading Manager is constantly looking for opportunities to enhance operations and deliver excellent experience for both internal and external customers.

The Loading Manager builds and sustains a cohesive, high-performing team by hiring, engaging, and developing associates, providing clear direction and feedback, and fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement to achieve operational excellence.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise daily outbound loading operations to ensure on-time shipment of customer and store orders.
  • Manage and develop a team of warehouse associates through coaching, training, performance management, and succession planning.
  • Monitor labor allocation and staffing levels to maximize productivity while controlling operating costs.
  • Ensure trailers are loaded safely, accurately, and in compliance with company standards and DOT regulations.
  • Partner with operations teams and facility manager to resolve shipping issues and improve workflow.
  • Analyze operational metrics including productivity, trailer utilization, on-time departures, and labor efficiency to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean.
  • Maintain compliance with company safety policies, and warehouse housekeeping standards.
  • Conduct daily start-up meetings, safety observations, and performance reviews to communicate priorities and reinforce expectations.
  • Investigate and resolve shipping discrepancies, damages, and customer service issues.
  • Support peak season planning, staffing, and execution to meet increased business demands.
  • Foster a positive work environment focused on teamwork, accountability, and employee engagement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
  • 5+ years of warehouse or distribution center experience.
  • 2+ years of leadership experience managing warehouse teams in a high-volume distribution environment.
  • Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong knowledge of distribution operations, shipping processes, and transportation logistics.
  • Proven ability to analyze operational data and make informed business decisions.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime as business needs require.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in high-volume fulfillment centers.
  • Lean, Six Sigma, or Continuous Improvement experience.
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations and warehouse safety practices.
  • Experience managing KPIs such as productivity, loading efficiency, order accuracy, and on-time shipping.

Pay, Benefits & Work Schedule: The salary range for this role is $65,000/year to $70,000/year, however all state and local minimum wages will be complied with, resulting in a possible adjustment to the salary range displayed. You may be eligible to participate in an incentive program, paid in accordance with the Incentive Plan terms and conditions.
