Partner Director information

What is a partner director?

A Partner Director is a senior leadership position responsible for managing and developing strategic relationships with key partners, such as other companies, vendors, or organizations. They identify opportunities for collaboration, negotiate partnership agreements, and ensure mutually beneficial outcomes. Partner Directors often work closely with internal teams to align partner activities with the company's goals, drive revenue growth, and expand market reach. Their role is crucial in building long-term partnerships that support business objectives.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a partner director?

To thrive as a Partner Director, you need expertise in strategic partnership management, business development, and a proven track record in leadership, typically supported by a relevant degree and extensive industry experience. Familiarity with CRM platforms, partnership management tools, and contract negotiation systems is commonly required. Exceptional relationship-building, negotiation, and communication skills help foster strong alliances and drive collaborative success. These competencies are crucial for developing high-value partnerships that align with organizational goals and deliver measurable business results.

What are some common challenges partner directors face when managing strategic alliances, and how can they overcome them?

Partner Directors often encounter challenges such as aligning organizational goals across different companies, navigating complex stakeholder relationships, and ensuring clear communication between teams. Successfully overcoming these hurdles requires strong negotiation skills, the ability to build consensus, and a proactive approach to conflict resolution. Regular check-ins, transparent reporting structures, and fostering a culture of collaboration are also key strategies that help maintain productive partnerships and drive mutual success.

Corporate Professional Partnerships Director

Homewood Health

Edmonton, AB • On-site

Full-time

Posted 28 days ago

Job description

At Homewood, we partner with employers, insurers and other third-party referrers across Canada to support people navigating complex mental health, trauma and substance use challenges. Through Homewood Health Centre and The Residence in Guelph, and Homewood Ravensview in North Saanich, we deliver evidence-based, medically informed treatment in highly specialized inpatient and residential settings.

We are looking for a Corporate & Professional Partnerships Director to strengthen and grow the relationships that connect employers, insurers, case management partners, professional associations, and decision-makers to Homewood’s programs.

This is not traditional sales. This is a highly relational, strategic and consultative role focused on building credibility with employers, insurers, disability management teams, occupational health stakeholders, unions, professional associations, and other third-party referrers. Success in this role comes from becoming a trusted and knowledgeable partner — someone organizations can turn to when employees, members, or clients need access to specialized mental health and addiction treatment.

If you are energized by strategic relationship-building, corporate and professional engagement, meaningful conversations and the opportunity to help improve access to care, we’d love to hear from you.

What you'll be doing:

  • Build and maintain strong referral relationships with employers, insurers, third-party administrators, and professional association referrers across your territory
  • Become a trusted resource on Homewood Health Centre, The Residence, and Homewood Ravensview programs, clinical approaches, admission pathways and organizational referral considerations
  • Engage referral sources through ongoing outreach, meetings, education, presentations, networking and strategic account development
  • Represent Homewood at employer, insurance, professional association and other third-party events across Canada
  • Host onsite visits and facility tours that help partners better understand our programs, care teams, admissions process and client experience
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen existing partnerships and develop new employer, insurer and third-party referral channels
  • Work collaboratively with clinical, operational and admissions teams to support an exceptional referral and client experience
  • Navigate sensitive and complex conversations with professionalism, empathy and sound judgment
  • Develop strategic territory and account plans informed by market trends, relationship insights and referral activity
  • Monitor referral trends, partnership activity and market opportunities to support business growth and long-term relationship development
  • Stay informed on trends and developments across workplace mental health, addiction treatment, disability management, insurance, employee benefits and employer-sponsored care in Canada

What we're looking for:

  • Experience in corporate partnerships, business development, account management, insurance, disability management, employee benefits, occupational health or relationship-focused sales or account management
  • Ability to build trust and credibility with employers, insurers, third-party referrers and senior organizational stakeholders
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, including comfort speaking with executives, HR leaders, benefits consultants, insurers, case managers and professional referral partners
  • A consultative and relationship-driven approach focused on long-term partnership development rather than transactional sales
  • Understanding of Canadian workplace mental health, disability management, insurance, benefits, employee assistance or healthcare funding environments
  • Experience managing complex relationships and navigating sensitive situations with professionalism and discretion
  • Strong organizational and territory management skills with the ability to work independently and strategically
  • Ability to travel overnight regularly
  • Comfort with networking and maintaining an active external presence
  • Curiosity, emotional intelligence and a genuine interest in supporting access to mental health and addiction care
