Job description

Cover Whale is rapidly expanding and we are looking for an additional Business Development Associate to increase premium production in North East region. You'll oversee a portfolio of established and newly onboarded partners, ensuring a seamless onboarding experience while helping them grow and succeed. You'll also define strategies for your partner portfolio and provide key business insights during quarterly reviews. Day-to-day responsibilities are to:
  • Manage a portfolio of emerging and lower-volume partners, building strong relationships and driving growth.
  • Collaborate with Underwriting, Marketing, and Growth teams to grow distribution and partner premium.
  • Identify opportunities to expand engagement with existing partners and support new partner development.
  • Research target markets, prospective partners, and competitive trends to strengthen the pipeline.
  • Track and report on key performance metrics, consistently meeting or exceeding goals.
  • Continuously improve partner onboarding, business development, and account management processes.
  • Represent Cover Whale through partner outreach and regional events, helping strengthen our brand and relationships.
  • Monitor partner performance, proactively identifying opportunities and escalating risks when needed.
  • Maintain accurate partner records and activity in HubSpot

Requirements
  • 3+ years of experience in a fast-paced sales, business development, or account management role.
  • Proven success onboarding new customers and driving long-term adoption and value.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to discuss both business and technical topics.
  • Excellent phone and video communication skills with a professional, customer-first approach.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a high-volume pipeline and consistently deliver results.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Consultative Sales: Ability to uncover customer needs, coach partners through the sales process, and collaborate on opportunities to drive successful outcomes.
  • High-Volume Outreach: Experience executing structured, multi-channel outreach strategies across phone, email, LinkedIn, and in-person interactions.
  • Sales Execution: Skilled at leading effective discovery conversations, securing clear next steps, and moving opportunities efficiently from initial engagement through bind.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field
  • Have experience in Metabase or similar software to pull, review, and analyze data

Travel Requirements: This role is hybrid with travel primarily in-market/within your region (approximately 10-15%)
Benefits
At Cover Whale, we believe in transparent and equitable compensation practices. The expected base pay for this role has a range of $70,000.00 - $91,746 per year. Final base pay is determined based on several factors, including skills and experience. Base pay is only part of our total compensation package, which also includes:
