Associate, Corporate Development - JLL

Location: 1 day a week in JLL East Rutherford, NJ office

What this job involves: The JLL Corporate Development team is responsible for identifying, executing, and integrating mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, investments, joint ventures, and strategic partnerships transactions. As a Corporate Development Associate, you will support the execution of complex strategic transactions that directly impact JLL's ability to expand market presence, enhance service capabilities, and deliver exceptional value to clients. This role provides comprehensive exposure to all aspects of transaction management, from origination through integration, while working alongside senior executives on initiatives that shape JLL's growth trajectory in the dynamic commercial real estate landscape.

What your day-to-day will look like:

  • Assist senior executives with complex strategic projects including M&A transactions, joint ventures, corporate partnerships, and divestitures
  • Build sophisticated financial models utilizing various valuation techniques such as discounted cash flow analysis, public and transaction comparables, and build versus buy analysis
  • Draft executive-level memoranda, presentations, reports, and other strategic materials for internal stakeholders and external parties
  • Perform comprehensive due diligence activities and collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess transaction opportunities and risks
  • Support transaction negotiations and structuring processes, working closely with internal and external legal counsel and professional consultants
  • Conduct industry and competitive research, including analysis of company SEC filings, market reports, and identification of attractive acquisition or partnership targets
  • Coordinate project timelines and deliverables across multiple stakeholders to ensure seamless transaction execution

Required Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree with a major in finance, economics, business administration, science, or technical field
  • 1-3 years of experience in corporate development, investment banking, or management consulting focused on acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, or strategic investments
  • Exceptional project management and organizational skills with proven ability to manage multiple complex initiatives simultaneously
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to effectively convey analytical insights to senior management
  • Extensive proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly advanced Excel modeling and PowerPoint presentation development
  • Intellectual curiosity and demonstrated interest in the commercial real estate sector
  • Ability to work autonomously with a solution-focused mindset in fast-paced, sometimes ambiguous environments

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous internship or project experience in real estate, finance, or consulting environments
  • Familiarity with financial statement analysis and valuation methodologies
  • Experience with data analysis tools and financial databases beyond standard Microsoft applications
  • Knowledge of commercial real estate market dynamics, trends, and key industry players
  • Exposure to transaction management processes or M&A workflows through academic or professional experiences
  • Strong analytical and quantitative problem-solving capabilities with attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to think creatively and develop innovative solutions to complex business challenges

Estimated compensation for this position:

120,000.00 - 140,000.00 USD per year

This range is an estimate and actual compensation may differ. Final compensation packages are determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations.
