OUR STORY
SummerCollab co-creates youth programs that energize kids to love learning, play wildly and believe in the power of their unique talents. We envision a world filled with imaginative, confident young people who believe in their unique talents, intelligence and unlimited possibility. Our signature programs provide new experiences and rich activities designed to narrow learning gaps in low income communities. We focus on cultivating self-worth, self-discovery, and meaningful human connection. Through these programs, kids learn to be vulnerable, persistent and curious while exploring new experiences. A side effect of this work is improved confidence, academic engagement and performance.
YOUR ROLE
SummerCollab's signature programs provide program participants with opportunities to receive mentoring, literacy support, and participate in new experiences in our variety of academic clubs. Youth Enrichment Staff assist with the daily program and supervision of program participants at their assigned site.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Supervises program participants and maintains staff to child ratios while participating alongside them throughout the day's program
  • Build strong relationships while implementing trauma-sensitive approaches to support program participants
  • Assists with maintaining relationships and communication with all families enrolled in the program
  • Work with Enrichment Instructors to ensure all program participants are engaged, supported, and actively learning during programming (including all academic, social-emotional, and other daily activities)
  • Assists Enrichment Instructors with the planning and facilitation of activities as scheduled
  • Assists with facilitation of all required assessments and proper tracking of results
  • Complies with and consistently enforces procedures related to program operations, safety, and behavior management
  • Takes accurate attendance on prescribed schedule and tracks data in designated electronic system to include all program participant transitions between activities, meal times, arrival and departure
  • Communicates needs and progress of program participants with Enrichment Instructors and program leadership
  • Maintains a high level of professionalism throughout all interactions
  • Responds to all communication (email, text or phone) from SummerCollab Leadership within one business day
  • Completes all required training, health appraisal and background checks as required
  • Completes all other duties as assigned by the Site Leader or other SummerCollab Leadership Team members

OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE
SummerCollab seeks positive, passionate educators with the desire to motivate youth to learn and grow. The ideal candidate is proactive, flexible and open to constructive feedback, willing and eager to build upon practices as an educator. He/she will demonstrate strengths in communication and classroom management, as well as the ability to address classroom challenges quickly and effectively. Experience working with children grades K-8 is preferred. The ideal candidate is 16 years or older and has a growth mindset, a strong belief in student-centered learning, and the drive to help program participants become excited about learning!
