YOUR IMPACT
This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Housekeeping Staff are vital to the success of the organization by creating a safe and healthy environment for all. This position will clean and sanitize assigned areas, including mopping, dusting and trash removal. This team member may also be responsible for window washing, meeting set up, pool cleaning, snow removal, groundskeeping, and other related responsibilities. This position will be expected to support all facility branches.

WHAT YOUR DAY MAY LOOK LIKE

No two days at the Y look exactly the same — and that’s part of what makes this role so important. You’ll play a key part in keeping our facility clean, safe, and ready for our community.

  • Tackle daily cleaning tasks like mopping, vacuuming, trash removal, and general upkeep
  • Help maintain locker rooms, pool areas, and high-traffic spaces so they’re always member-ready
  • Pitch in with seasonal work such as lawn care or snow removal
  • Restock supplies like soap and paper towels to keep spaces fully equipped
  • Set up and reset rooms for programs, meetings, and special events
  • Keep an eye out for repairs or safety concerns and report them right away
  • Operate equipment safely and help keep the building secure during your shift
  • Jump in wherever needed to help the Y run smoothly

Position 1: SwedishAmerican Riverfront YMCA

Part-Time, Non-Exempt
Up to 20 hours per week
Evenings: Monday-Friday 2-3 days per week
Weekends: 2 per month
$15.00 per hour

Position 2: SwedishAmerican Riverfront YMCA
Part-Time, Non-Exempt
Up to 20 hours per week
Evenings: Monday-Friday 2-3 days per week

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Six months or more of related experience preferred.
    • Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents.
    • Ability to report and record maintenance requests.
    • Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment.
    • Basic understanding of the upkeep and care of equipment.
    • Understanding of cleaning compounds and chemicals, and their safe, efficient use.
    • CPR, AED and First Aid Certifications required within 90 days.
    • Praesidium Academy trainings.
    • Prefer knowledge of, and previous experience with, diverse populations.
    • Proven track record of developing authentic and deepened relationships with others.
