OVERVIEW
Morning Brew is seeking a freelance YouTube Thumbnail Designer to join our video production team. The ideal candidate for this position is an avid consumer of YouTube and creator led content, passionate about identifying both the overt and subtle trends in YouTube thumbnails, and has a proven track record of creating highly clickable, thoughtfully designed YouTube thumbnails in collaboration with creators.
This is a freelance position on a per-project basis with the opportunity to convert to full time employment.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Collaborate with producers at the onset of production to craft the most clickable title and thumbnail combinations
- Work with producers to create shot lists you'll need for executing on thumbnails
- Create 3-4 thumbnail options per video, and address 1-2 rounds of notes before publish
- Collaborate with Audience Development team to create a unified style and feel for our thumbnails across the channel
- Archive work and projects to be stored in our centralized database
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
- Proven experience designing highly clickable thumbnails for creator-led YouTube channel(s).
- Capable of identifying and communicating successful design trends, both overt and subtle, to continue to refine and improve the channel's thumbnail style
- Strong familiarity with A/B/C testing thumbnail and title combinations and identifying which elements and content angles are worth testing against each other
- Regularly consumes YouTube content, including in the world of news, business, non-fiction, and explainers
- Obsesses over new and evolving trends and varying styles across the YouTube platform
COMPENSATION $250-400 per video (2-4 videos per month)
