The Director of Marketing is a senior leader and brand champion responsible for driving awareness, branding, and revenue across all hotel and outlet channels. This is a highly visible, hands-on role for a marketer who thrives in a fast-moving hospitality environment, loves F&B as much as rooms, and brings both creative instincts and data-driven discipline to every campaign.

Essential Job Functions:

1. Food & Beverage Marketing

  • Lead marketing strategy, campaign planning, and execution for all five F&B outlets: Terra Tempe Kitchen & Spirits, Skysill Rooftop Lounge, Cup of Joe Market Caf, and the highly anticipated openings of Sushi by Bou and Capriotti's Sandwich Shop.
  • Develop and execute integrated launch campaigns for Sushi by Bou and Capriotti's Sandwich Shop, building pre-opening buzz, waitlist strategies, and press-worthy grand opening moments.
  • Create and manage seasonal promotions, happy hour campaigns, special events, and programming activations that drive local traffic and repeat visits.
  • Build a loyal local following through targeted outreach, influencer partnerships, community events, and neighborhood-level storytelling.
  • Collaborate with outlet managers, promoters and chefs to develop compelling content around menu launches, chef specials, and seasonal ingredients.
  • Oversee reservation-driving initiatives across platforms (OpenTable, Resy, etc.) and coordinate with operations to maximize covers during key dayparts.
  • Develop marketing collateralmenus, table tents, digital assets, promotional signagethat reflects each outlet's brand identity and energy.

2. Hotel Marketing & Brand Strategy

  • Own and execute the property's comprehensive hotel marketing plan aligned with occupancy goals, ADR targets, and revenue objectives.
  • Champion the Westin brand identity on propertyensuring all marketing communications reflect Westin's well-being philosophy, elevated tone, and signature visual standards.
  • Partner with Commercial team to develop promotions, packages, and offers that drive direct bookings and Brand.com contribution.
  • Coordinate with Crescent Corporate Marketing and Marriott brand teams to leverage resources, best practices, and co-op opportunities.
  • Manage Marriott brand platforms to ensure accurate, compelling, and conversion-optimized content.
  • Identify PR-worthy programming, packages, and activations, coordinate media visits and press opportunities in partnership with PR resources.
  • Develop B2B marketing initiatives supporting group sales, meetings, and event business.

3. Social Media Strategy & Content:

  • Develop and manage social media strategies for the hotel and outlet accounts across Instagram, Facebook and emerging platforms as needed.
  • Review monthly content calendars in collaboration with our social agency that reflect seasonal programming, outlet promotions, hotel packages, and community events.
  • Produce or oversee production of professional, on-brand contentphotography, video, Reels, Storiesthat captures the energy of the property and its outlets.
  • Build and manage relationships with local influencers, campus content creators, and lifestyle tastemakers to amplify reach and credibility.
  • Monitor engagement and manage online community across all platforms with a voice that matches each brand.

4. Digital Marketing & Pay-Per-Click Advertising:

  • Serve as the primary liaison between the property and digital agency partners managing SEO, PPC, display advertising, and social ads.
  • Review, approve, and provide actionable feedback on paid advertising copy, display creative, and social media ad campaigns.
  • Monitor and optimize digital campaign performance across channels including paid search (Google, Microsoft), display, metasearch, and OTA advertising.
  • Oversee website content strategy across brand and vanity sites; ensure SEO best practices, brand consistency, and conversion optimization.
  • Utilize CMS platforms (e.g., WordPress, Marriott tools) to update imagery, create packages, and upload promotional materials.
  • Stay current on emerging digital marketing trends and technologies relevant to hotel and restaurant marketing.

5. Email Marketing & CRM:

  • Develop and execute targeted email marketing campaigns for both hotel and outlet audiencesincluding newsletters, promotional blasts, event invitations, and post-stay communications.
  • Develop campaign timelines, content, targeting parameters, and post-send reporting.
  • Coordinate outlet-level email programsincluding happy hour drives, event invitations, and new menu launches.

6. Creative Direction & Collateral:

  • Oversee the creation of marketing collateral across hotel and outlet brandsincluding print menus, digital assets, signage, promotional materials, and presentation decks to meet brand guidelines.
  • Design or direct design of materials using Canva and/or other creative applications, maintaining consistent brand standards for each outlet and the hotel.
  • Coordinate photography and videography shoots for hotel rooms, F&B outlets, events, and seasonal campaigns; ensure assets are properly archived and distributed.

7. Reporting, Analytics & Budget Management:

  • Track and report on KPIs across all marketing channelswebsite traffic, email performance, social engagement, paid media ROI, outlet reservation volume, and hotel direct booking contribution.
  • Translate data into actionable insights; present regular performance updates to the DOSM, General Manager, and ownership.
  • Manage the annual marketing budget in collaboration with Crescent Corporate Marketing, ensuring strategic allocation across channels and adherence to financial guidelines.

Required Skills and Abilities:

Must have the ability to communicate in English. Self-starting personality with an even disposition. Maintain a professional appearance and manner at all times. Can communicate well with guests. Must be willing to "pitch-in" and help co-workers with their job duties and be a team player and performs any other job-related duties as assigned. Knowledge of a hotel structure and how all departments interact. Ability to effectively communicate with customers in a friendly and positive manner, in order to solicit business, meet client needs and resolve complaints. Ability to move throughout the hotel to conduct site inspections.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of progressive marketing experience in hotel, hospitality, or restaurant environments; combined hotel/F&B experience strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated success launching or marketing food and beverage conceptsfrom casual dining to upscale experiential brands.
  • Strong command of digital marketing channels: SEO, PPC, paid social, display advertising, email marketing, and metasearch.
  • Proficiency in social media content creation and platform management across Instagram and Facebook.
  • Experience with Canva or other creative/design applications; ability to produce polished, on-brand materials independently.
  • Marriott systems experience strongly preferred, including familiarity with brand platforms, and Marriott brand standards.
  • Working knowledge of CMS platforms (WordPress preferred), email marketing tools, and CRM/GMS systems.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret campaign data, generate insights, and optimize performance.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; strong copywriting ability with an ear for voice and tone.
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field preferred.
  • Creative, proactive, and highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
