This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced electronic security professional who enjoys troubleshooting complex systems, working independently, and supporting mission-critical airport security infrastructure. You'll serve as the primary after-hours technical resource, responding to service calls, diagnosing issues, restoring system functionality, and documenting all work performed.

Schedule:

This position provides after-hours on-call coverage:

  • Monday–Friday: 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM
  • Weekends and holidays
  • Respond to dispatched airport service calls
  • Must remain available by phone during assigned on-call periods

Compensation includes:

  • $35.00/hour for all hours worked
  • $75/day on-call availability pay during assigned coverage periods

What You'll Do:

  • Respond to after-hours service calls within required response times
  • Diagnose and repair enterprise access control hardware and software
  • Troubleshoot intelligent controllers, readers, door hardware, power supplies, backup systems, intercoms, and network-connected security devices
  • Perform software diagnostics and verify controller communications
  • Restore system functionality while following approved engineering procedures
  • Escalate complex issues to engineering or manufacturer technical support as needed
  • Coordinate with airport operations and security personnel during service activities
  • Complete detailed service reports, documentation, and timesheets
  • Follow all airport security, safety, and operational procedures

Response Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you must be able to:

  • Respond on-site within 2 hours of receiving a service call
  • Resolve system issues within 4 hours, when reasonably achievable
  • Live within 50 miles of Denver International Airport
  • Support occasional daytime preventative maintenance activities
  • Remain available throughout scheduled on-call periods

Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience servicing enterprise electronic security or access control systems
  • Current manufacturer certification (installer or maintainer level) on an enterprise PACS platform, or the ability to obtain certification through BSI prior to assignment
  • Experience troubleshooting access control hardware and software independently
  • Knowledge of IP networking fundamentals and device communications
  • Ability to interpret wiring diagrams, risers, shop drawings, and door schedules
  • Strong troubleshooting and technical documentation skills
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DEN Airport ID Badge, including background screening and Security Threat Assessment
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment background check

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced manufacturer certifications
  • Experience supporting large enterprise access control systems
  • Airport, transportation, healthcare, or other critical infrastructure experience
  • Experience with biometric credentialing systems
  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field
  • Knowledge of delayed egress, fire alarm interfaces, and life safety requirements

Physical Requirements:

  • Lift up to 50 pounds
  • Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Walk long distances throughout airport facilities
  • Work above ceilings, on ladders, and in equipment rooms
  • Respond to overnight emergency service calls

At BSI, you'll work on one of the nation's busiest airports while supporting mission-critical security technology.

We offer:

  • Competitive hourly pay plus daily on-call compensation
  • Flexible part-time schedule
  • Manufacturer certification support
  • Hands-on work with enterprise access control and biometric technologies
  • Opportunity to support critical transportation infrastructure
  • Career growth with a leading systems integration company serving airports and government clients
