Requirements:

Maintenance and Repairs

  • Oversee routine maintenance and emergency repairs for hotel equipment, systems, and infrastructure (e.g., HVAC, plumbing, electrical, lighting, and elevators).
  • Perform or supervise preventive maintenance tasks to minimize downtime and extend the life of equipment.

Facility Operations

  • Ensure all hotel facilities, including guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces, are in excellent condition.
  • Maintain compliance with brand standards for property upkeep and appearance.

Safety and Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, including fire safety and building codes.
  • Perform regular safety inspections and maintain records of certifications and inspections.

Energy Management

  • Monitor and manage energy consumption to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Implement energy-saving initiatives and sustainable practices.

Collaboration with Other Departments

  • Work closely with housekeeping, front desk, and food & beverage teams to address maintenance needs promptly and support guest satisfaction.
  • Coordinate with external contractors for specialized repairs or large-scale projects.

What We are Looking for in a Part-Time Weekend Hotel Maintenance, Hotel Maintenance Tech, or Hotel Engineer include:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Technical Skills
  • Building Systems Expertise: In-depth knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems, as well as elevators and fire safety equipment.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Skills in developing and implementing preventive maintenance schedules for long-term efficiency.
  • Troubleshooting and Repair: Ability to diagnose and repair issues promptly across a variety of hotel systems
  • Energy Management: Understanding energy-efficient practices and systems to reduce costs and improve sustainability.
  • Technical Certifications: Certifications like HVAC Technician, Electrician License, or OSHA safety training are preferred.
  • Customer-Focused Mindset
  • Guest Sensitivity: Awareness of how maintenance activities can impact guests and taking measures to minimize disruptions.
