Job description

MAHLE is a leading international development partner and supplier to the automotive industry with customers in both passenger car and commercial vehicle sectors. Founded in 1920, the technology group is working on the climate-neutral mobility of tomorrow, with a focus on the strategic areas of electrification and thermal management as well as further technologies to reduce CO2 emissions, such as fuel cells or highly efficient, clean combustion engines that also run on renewable fuels, such as hydrogen. Today, one in every two vehicles globally is equipped with MAHLE components.
Note: This position is fully onsite in Dayton, OH and begins in August.
Your Contribution
  • As a part-time Web Development Intern at MAHLE, you will assist our development team in the design, development, testing, and maintenance of our websites and web applications. This is an excellent opportunity to expand your skills in a professional setting and gain practical experience with core web technologies including PHP, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and SQL.
  • Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code for new and existing web applications using PHP, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
  • Integrate front-end designs with back-end services and databases (SQL Server/Express) to ensure seamless functionality.
  • Assist in troubleshooting and debugging software defects and issues on web-based systems under the guidance of senior developers.
  • Collaborate with designers and other developers in a team environment to understand project requirements and contribute to design and code reviews.
  • Ensure web content is accessible and functional across various web browsers and devices, applying responsive design principles.
  • Update and edit website content using internal content management systems (CMS) where necessary.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging web development trends and technologies.

Your Experience & Qualifications
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Web Development, Information Technology, or a related field, or a recent graduate.
  • Foundational understanding and coursework experience in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP.
  • Familiarity with database management concepts and SQL.
  • Knowledge of version control systems, specifically Git, is highly beneficial.
