The Opportunity:
Everyone is trying to "harness the cloud," but not everyone knows how. As a DevOps engineer, you're eager to develop, manage, and secure a container platform that meets your client's needs and takes advantage of cloud capabilities. We need you to develop container management software to solve some of our clients' toughest challenges.
As a senior platform DevOps engineer at Booz Allen, you can use your technical skills to affect mission-forward change. On our team, you'll hone your skills using the latest cloud technologies as you look for ways to improve your client's environment with current container software to ensure seamless orchestration. Using your DevOps platform experience, you'll support your team as you inform strategy and design while ensuring standards are met throughout the containerization process.
You'll recommend resources that will help your client manage and securely adopt containers. Additionally, you'll continue to strengthen your DevOps skills while supporting the development of critical cloud platforms.

You Have:
  • 7+ years of experience in an AWS cloud environment
  • 5+ years of experience with containerization, building images and orchestrating deployments in Kubernetes and Rancher or EKS
  • 4+ years of experience managing tools deployed with Helm using ArgoCD or Flux, including writing custom Helm charts, and with automation tools, such as Ansible, Terraform, Terragrunt or IaC tool suite
  • Experience developing custom applications and supporting them in a production environment
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code environments, including activities around the automated server or network configurations, large-scale software deployments, or monitoring and testing such as CI/CD
  • Knowledge of container networking, monitoring, and storage solutions
  • Knowledge of container security technologies and evaluating and mitigating or resolving vulnerability findings
  • TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Active DoD 8570 Level II Compliant Certification

Nice If You Have:
  • Experience developing in Java or Python
  • Experience with Prometheus, Grafana or ElasticSearch, Kibana, and FluentD
  • Experience with the design, deployment, and management of Cloud environments, including AWS or Azure
  • Experience using or migrating CI/CD pipeline solutions or tools, including Jenkins, Git, or TeamCity
  • Experience with system integration using a variety of protocols, including JSON, REST, and XML
  • Experience with scripting in Bash, PowerShell, Python, Groovy, or Ruby, and leveraging JSON, YAML, or XML for configuration
  • Knowledge of cloud and virtualization-based technologies, including Docker, Azure, AWS, or VMware
  • Knowledge of Linux or UNIX administration and automation
  • Knowledge of foundational system administration principles
  • Kubernetes Certification

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $77,600.00 to $176,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
