Floor Technician
Part-time
Hourly Rate - $18.00
Hours up to 25 Available - Shift times may fluctuate based on business demands)

Principle Accountabilities for Floor Technicians:
  • The Floor Technician maintains The Garlands' public areas through various cleaning projects including floor care, exterior cleanings and special projects
  • Performs carpet, floor, upholstery cleaning and all other cleaning tasks by following policies and procedures and product recommendations. Must always refer to MSDS and follow infection control procedures.
  • Responsible for maintaining and cleaning equipment before and after each use.
  • Report to the director and supervisor any equipment issues timely.
  • Uses chemicals and supplies wisely
  • Follows safe working procedures and reports any safety concerns to the supervisor and director.
  • Assists Maintenance Team Members with snow removal on walkways and driveways to ensure Members' safety on the premises.
  • Demonstrates excellent listening skills and communicates effectively while conveying patience and understanding.
  • Treats all Members with dignity and respect and establishes a trusting relationship with them, while maintaining confidences.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of safety measures and environmental hazard prevention at The Garlands. Uses tools and equipment in a safe and efficient manner.

  • Experience in a healthcare or hospitality setting preferred
  • Must be a flexible, highly customer service individual
  • Well organized with the ability to handle a variety of responsibilities and changing priorities, while maintaining an upbeat, customer focus.
  • Able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
  • Takes pride in personal appearance and professional demeanor.
  • Must be able to complete responsibilities with little supervision and operate all cleaning equipment independently.
  • Must be able to work with cleaning fluids in a safe and appropriate manner.

Physical Requirements:
  • Able to climb 6-foot stepladder.
  • Able to endure extensive standing, walking, stair climbing.
  • Able to work outside in inclement weather while shoveling snow or pushing equipment.
  • Able to tolerate occasional high noise levels.
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to push and/or pull wheeled carts and equipment weighing up to 100 lbs.
