What does a part time TV commercial producer do?

A part-time TV commercial producer is responsible for overseeing the creation and production of television commercials, usually working on a project-by-project basis. Their tasks include coordinating with clients, managing budgets, hiring crew, scheduling shoots, and ensuring the final commercial meets the client’s vision and broadcast requirements. Since the role is part-time, producers may work flexible hours or on specific campaigns rather than full-time employment. Strong organizational, communication, and creative skills are essential for success in this field.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a part time TV commercial producer?

To thrive as a Part Time TV Commercial Producer, you need a solid background in video production, storytelling, and project management, often supported by a degree in film, communications, or related experience. Familiarity with video editing software (like Adobe Premiere or Final Cut Pro), budgeting tools, and camera equipment is typically required. Strong interpersonal skills, creativity, and the ability to work under tight deadlines set standout producers apart. These skills ensure the delivery of compelling commercials that meet client objectives and are completed efficiently within budget and time constraints.

How does a part time TV commercial producer typically collaborate with creative and technical teams during a project?

As a part-time TV commercial producer, you will regularly coordinate with both creative teams—such as writers, directors, and designers—and technical crews, including camera operators and editors. Communication is key as you help keep the project on track, ensuring everyone understands the vision, timeline, and budget constraints. You may attend meetings, oversee shoots, and provide feedback during post-production, even on a limited schedule. Flexibility and strong organizational skills are essential to balance responsibilities and maintain consistent progress across multiple projects.

Job availability can vary based on market trends and advertising budgets.

Part-time TV commercial producers typically earn between $20 and $50 per hour, depending on experience, location, and project scope. Their income can vary based on the complexity of the commercial, the producer's expertise, and the production company's budget.

How to become a part time tv commercial producer?
