Job description

Part-Time Elementary, Middle, or High School Teacher/Tutor Wanted

Passionate about puns? Excited by equations? Love literature? Eager to help students succeed in all subjects?

We are currently seeking a part-time teacher-tutors for a role in our learning center at GradePower Learning Largo. This position is perfect for anyone who loves working with students, enjoys teaching the ins and outs of language, math, among other subjects and is passionate about helping others build their skills in these areas.

Work flexible hours tutoring core subjects and/or SAT/ACT in the mornings and/or afternoons Monday - Friday (5-40 hours).

GradePower administration communicates with parents, and all learning plans are pre-planned. This leaves limited daily planning responsibility for the teachers. Applicants will be fully trained in our proprietary philosophy and methods.

Position Requirements:

Teacher-Tutors at GradePower Learning work summers and portions of mornings and/or after-school and evening hours Monday - Friday (9:00am - 7:00pm). Choose the number of mornings/afternoons you work. Your students will love working with you, and being reliable is a must!

Applicants with upper division math and science expertise and who scored well on the SAT/ACT will be trained to coach SAT/ACT Prep program ($20-$23/hour).

This role is in-person. You must be able to commute to this location. This is not an online position. Relocation packages are not available. Vulnerable sector screening is mandatory.

Education:

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree or currently enrolled in college/university
  • Teaching certification an asset

Experience:

  • Some experience teaching/tutoring at a first to 12th grade (or equivalent) level is an asset
  • SAT/ACT tutoring experience an asset
  • Strong English written and oral communication skills and ability to guide students' understanding
  • Ability to multitask and balance working with up to six students at a time

Responsibilities (Position Details):

You will work directly with students as an Interactive Coach with the following responsibilities:

  • Teaching 3-6 students at a time at different levels
  • Teaching is in-person
  • Following the GradePower Learning methodologies and philosophies
  • Filling in post-lesson notes
  • Completing daily student communication updates
  • Maintaining a friendly and professional manner at all times
