Job description

As a Neurosurgeon and officer on the U.S. Army healthcare team, you will have the opportunity to practice the most advanced procedures and techniques. You will work in one of our state-of-the-art medical facilities worldwide and network with other well-known professionals in your specialized field. You will train to become a leader, all while developing advanced skills. Also, you will enrich your career without the constraints of overhead expenses and malpractice insurance premiums.

If you choose the Army Reserve, you can continue to work in your community and serve when needed. For either path, you will work as part of a multidisciplinary team, surrounded by dedicated professionals who share your values and a passion for excellence

Full time - Active Duty

Benefits:

  • Signing Bonus: $600,000 for 4-year Obligation

  • Loan Repayment: Receive $120,000 in student loan repayment in $40,000 annual payments to qualifying federal student loans paid directly to the lending institution through the Active Duty Health Professions Loan Repayment Program (ADHPLRP).

  • Incentive Pay: $59,000 annually plus eligibility to receive a retention bonus after completion of training.
    Location: Over 40 locations stateside and several more overseas, including Hawaii, Alaska, Italy, Germany, and Korea.

  • Time Off: 30 days paid vacation annually plus over 20 days for federal holidays and "Days of no Scheduled Activities."

  • Practice True Medicine: No malpractice insurance premiums, no overhead costs, no dealing with insurance companies, no productivity goals.

  • Insurance: No-cost healthcare and dental insurance for you. Low-cost healthcare and dental insurance for your family.

  • Housing and food stipend.

Army Reserve (Part-time)

Benefits:

  • State of choice for work, 1 weekend a month, 2 weeks a year. $500 in travel reimbursement

  • Loan Repayment: Receive $250,000 in student loan repayment in $40,000 annual payments to qualifying federal student loans paid directly to the lending institution through the Health Professions Loan Repayment Program (HPLRP).

  • Specialized Training Assistance: Monthly stipend while enrolled in an accredited residency program. Recipients must be a U.S. citizen and will serve in the Army Reserve after completing residency.

  • Insurance: Low cost comprehensive healthcare and dental plans for you and your family.

  • Travel opportunities, to include humanitarian missions.

  • Flexible retirement plan for 20 years of service.
