Job description

Location: Travis AFB, CA

Position: Part-time

Duties:

  • Perform for all regularly scheduled worship services, choir rehearsals, and additional services as requested.
  • Work cooperatively with chapel staff, other musicians, volunteers, and members of other faith groups for ecumenical activities.
  • Establish a regular schedule of work, accommodating rehearsals, worship services, and other musical programs.
  • Provide accompaniment and assistance for all regular rehearsals and worship services.
  • Assist in setup and breakdown of rehearsal and performance areas, including handling audio equipment and instruments.
  • Participate in the entirety of worship services, including sound-checks and warm-ups.

Requirements:

  • Active Protestant Christian, committed to being an active part of the Travis Chapel Protestant Worship Services.
  • Minimum of a high school diploma (preferred two years of Bachelor’s level education in instrumental music) and at least four years of experience as a worship service musician.
  • Proficient in playing keyboard and/or guitar, sight-reading, and performing instrumental sheet music, and reading chord charts.
  • Provide two positive letters of reference, and a video of a worship service showcasing the applicant playing congregational worship music.
