Job Overview
Personal Trainer, Campus Recreation - Georgetown University
The Personal Trainer works one-on-one and/or in small groups with students and members in individualized training sessions. In addition, the Personal Trainer is responsible for tracking client progress, maintaining client files, and facilitating the purchase of training sessions in coordination with the Assistant Director.
Additional duties include, but are not limited to:
  • Reviewing interest form submissions to find potential clients
  • Reaching out to clients to schedule sessions
  • Tailoring 1:1 and/or small group workout plans for clients
  • Leading clients through effective and safe workout regimens
  • Tracking client progress
  • Facilitating purchase of ongoing sessions in conjunction with the Assistant Director

Work Interactions
The Personal Trainer reports to the Assistant Director of Fitness and Wellness. They may collaborate with other Fitness and Wellness staff, including Group Fitness Instructors and Fitness Attendants, to support the overall mission of Campus Recreation of providing fun and engaging wellness programming.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • National certification from a reputable certifying organization (for example, ACE, ACSM, NASM, NSCA)
  • CPR/AED/First Aid certification
  • Engaging and professional approach
  • Self-motivation with passion for helping individuals achieve their fitness goals
  • Knowledge of basic anatomy, physiology, biomechanics, workout structure, and proper form

Pay Range
The projected hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is: $31.50- $38.50. Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University's business needs and external factors.
