Part Time Tiktok primarily involves creating short-form video content tailored for TikTok, focusing on trends and platform-specific skills. In contrast, a Part Time Social Media Manager oversees multiple platforms, develops strategies, and analyzes performance. While both roles require social media knowledge, Part Time Tiktok is more specialized in video content for TikTok, whereas Part Time Social Media Manager covers broader social media management tasks.

What are the typical responsibilities and expectations for someone working in a part-time TikTok content creator role?

Part-time TikTok content creators are usually responsible for planning, filming, and editing short-form videos that align with current trends and the brand or account’s goals. You’ll often be expected to brainstorm creative ideas, engage with followers through comments and live streams, and track basic analytics to measure performance. Collaboration with marketing teams or other creators is common, and adapting quickly to platform updates or viral trends is a key part of the job. Balancing these tasks within part-time hours can be challenging, but the role offers flexibility and a chance to grow your digital media skills.

What are Part Time TikTok jobs?

Part Time TikTok jobs refer to flexible positions where individuals create, manage, or promote content on the TikTok platform for a set number of hours each week, rather than working full-time. These roles can include being a content creator, social media manager, video editor, or brand ambassador. Part-time TikTok jobs are popular among students, freelancers, and those seeking extra income, as they allow for a flexible work schedule and often remote work. Responsibilities may involve producing engaging videos, growing an audience, and collaborating with brands or businesses for sponsored content.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Part-Time TikTok Content Creator, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Part-Time TikTok Content Creator, you need creativity, a strong understanding of social media trends, and basic video production skills, typically supported by experience with short-form content. Familiarity with TikTok's editing tools, analytics dashboard, and popular content creation apps is essential. Strong communication, adaptability, and consistency are standout soft skills for building an engaged audience. These abilities are important because they enable effective content creation, audience growth, and brand collaboration in a highly dynamic digital environment.

Content Creator (Part-Time)

Sans

Los Angeles, CA

$25 - $30/hr

Part-time

Job description

Company Description

Sans is on a mission to build the next great consumer hardware brand, with a laser focus on products that help people live healthier lives at home. We started with a category-leading air purifier before expanding to a best-in-class countertop water purifier that actually works to eliminate harmful contaminants - and our product roadmap is just getting started.

We're a small, ambitious team that believes deeply in our ability to create a meaningful consumer brand. We move fast, learn quickly, and consistently outperform much larger competitors.

About the Role

The Content Creator will help bring Sans' social content strategy to life across Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts. This role is focused on producing static and short-form video content and will report to the Associate Director of Brand Amplification, also working closely with the Creative Director to execute against a defined content calendar and brand vision.

This is a hands-on production role. The strategy exists. We need someone who can make it real, consistently and with quality. You'll be working across educational content, product storytelling, and lifestyle moments, creating most of the visual video content and using tools like Canva, CapCut, and other AI-assisted creative tools.

The ideal candidate is a natural creator who already makes things on their phone, has a strong visual eye, and understands what performs on short-form platforms. They should be detail-oriented, self-directed, and excited to build a content engine from the ground up.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Create static posts, carousels, and story cards in Canva, following Sans brand templates and visual guidelines
  • Edit and produce short-form video content (Reels, TikToks, YouTube Shorts) using CapCut and similar editing tools
  • Produce 8-10 pieces of content per week across platforms, from brief through final asset delivery
  • Adapt and repurpose content across formats and platforms (e.g., turning a static post into a Reel, reformatting a Reel for TikTok)
  • Collaborate with the Brand Amplification team on weekly content planning, creative direction, and performance review
  • Source and organize visual assets, b-roll, product footage, and UGC for use across content
  • Stay current on social trends, audio, and formats, especially across Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts, and proactively bring ideas to the team
  • Help maintain a consistent brand look and voice across all platforms and content types

Requirements

Experience:

  • Comfortable in front of the camera. Ability to film themselves and edit independently
  • Demonstrated experience with Canva (required): comfortable building posts, carousels, and templates from scratch or from a brand kit
  • Experience creating and editing short-form video content using CapCut, InShot, or similar mobile/desktop editing tools
  • Portfolio or examples of social content you've created (personal brand, client work, school projects, or freelance all count)
  • Familiarity with Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts as a creator, not just a consumer
  • Experience with or willingness to learn AI-assisted creative tools (e.g., ElevenLabs, HeyGen) is a plus
  • Interest in wellness, home products, DTC brands, or health-related content is a plus but not required

Interpersonal:

  • Strong visual eye and attention to detail: you care about alignment, type hierarchy, and making things look clean
  • Self-directed and reliable: ability to take a content brief or idea and turn it into a finished asset without heavy hand-holding
  • Communicative and organized: comfortable working in a fast-moving, small-team environment where priorities can shift
  • Creative and curious: you actively consume and study content on social platforms and have opinions about what works and why
  • Excitement for startups and building something from the ground up

Benefits

  • Part-time, approximately 15-20 hours per week
  • $25-30 /hr
  • Hybrid: 1 day per week in office + a mix of remote work and in-person collaboration across content shoots
  • Location: Culver City, United States
