We invite you to join our growing private practice in Shelby Township, MI. Located within a vibrant local church, our practice is dedicated to offering compassionate, faith-integrated mental health services that support emotional, relational, and spiritual well-being.
About Our Practice
We are a part of Midwest Behavioral Clinic (MBC), a well-established psychological clinic serving Mid-Michigan with offices in Shelby Township, Highland, Fenton, and Grand Blanc. Our Shelby Township location uniquely blends professional counseling services with Christian values in a warm, welcoming environment.
MBC provides individual, couples, marriage, and family therapy across the lifespan—including children, teens, and adults. We specialize in treating a wide range of concerns such as anxiety, depression, trauma, family conflict, life transitions, grief, abuse recovery, and more.

Position Overview
We are currently seeking a part time Family Licensed Christian Therapist who is experienced or interested in working with individuals, couples, and families with children, teens, and adults in a Christian counseling context. This role is ideal for someone who values both clinical integrity and the integration of faith in practice (as requested by clients).

You’ll enjoy flexibility, autonomy, and the support of a values-driven, collaborative team.
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individual, couples, and family therapy 
  • Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans tailored to each client’s needs
  • Integrate Christian principles into therapy, when aligned with the client’s preferences and goals
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation in a timely and ethical manner
  • Collaborate with other professionals (e.g., pastors, educators, physicians) when needed
  • Participate in clinical supervision and team meetings as appropriate
Qualifications

Required:
  • Master’s degree or higher in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or related field
  • Active and unrestricted Michigan licensure (LMFT, LMSW, LPC) 
  • Experience or strong interest in working with families, children & adolescents
  • Comfort and competence in integrating Christian values into clinical work (as requested)
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to pass background checks and uphold legal and ethical standards
Preferred:
  • 3+ years of post-graduate clinical experience
  • Background in private practice or faith-based counseling settings
  • Training or certification in family systems therapy preferred, trauma-informed care, or Advanced Alcohol & Drug Counselor (CAADC)
Compensation & Benefits
  • Competitive pay: ranges from $50 - $75 an hour, based on experience, insurance pay-out, and caseload
