HOTEL JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary: Providing exceptional service to guests by promptly welcoming and courteously serving guests, engaging in a polite conversation when time permits. Be fully informed of beverage and menu offerings for breakfast & bar, in anticipation of guest needs and to delivering attentive service. Maintaining a safe, clean environment, which includes managing people with discretion and professionalism and occasionally diffusing difficult situations. Ensure the bar and its equipment are clean and fully functional.


One year of Bartending experience is preferred. Clear, effective communication in written and verbal English is required. You must be able to accurately count cash and efficiently process transactions using company systems. You also must be able to operate bar equipment. Awareness of compliance with all liquor laws, Interstate guidelines, policies and procedures is required. This position requires continuous movement and being on your feet for prolonged periods of time.

Requirements:


  • Attend all daily, weekly and/or monthly department/hotel meetings to ensure proper communication/planning occurs.
  • Present menu, answer questions and take order for food and beverage, utilizing suggestive selling techniques.
  • Anticipate guestsโ€™ needs and respond promptly, maintaining positive guest relations at all times.
  • Compute bill and accept payment, track sales receipts, ensure tips are reported properly for tax processing in MICROS system.
  • Clear and clean tables; reset counters and tables.
  • Maintain kitchen and wait station by keeping area tidy and clean and stock kitchen and bar at the end of each shift.
  • Inventory food supplies and equipment weekly. Request supplies as needed.
  • Prepare all standard hotel varieties of coffee: regular, robust, decaf and hot water for tea.
  • Stock coffee stations: creamers, sugar options, cups, lids, stirrers, and napkins; and restock as necessary during shift.
  • Prepare orders as requested
  • Ensure complete knowledge of all liquor brands, wines, beers and non-alcoholic selections, correct glassware and garnishes.
  • Prepare and serve food courses and beverages to guests.
  • Communicate additional meal requirements, allergies, dietary needs, and special requests to the kitchen.
  • Complete closing duties, including restocking items, turning off lights, folding napkins, requisition of all necessary supplies and transport from storeroom to Bistro. Set up all condiments and beverages according to service standards etc.
