Job description

Salary:

We are searching for a friendly and creative part-time Caf Barista to join our team. A barista provides quality customer service and demonstrates knowledge of coffee products, equipment, and tea products. The barista has responsibility for serving all products with friendly, individualized attention towards each customer. The barista is also responsible for making a difference to our customers by educating them about our premium coffees and teas. Baristas are instrumental in building customer relationships and fostering a positive and friendly store environment. The barista fulfills any other duties the caf managing partner assigns, and represents Red Rooster Caf in a professional manner. All team members are expected to support Red Roosters Guiding Principles and follow the House Rules.


Barista's Responsibilities to representing RR Products:

  • Educates our customers on the superior quality of Red Rooster and subsidiaries products and services.
  • Weighs, grinds and packs coffee per customers orders according to Company guidelines.
  • Sells and serves all merchandise, products, and baked goods and miscellaneous food items to customers.
  • Continues to learn and educate themselves on whole bean knowledge, coffee blends, tea products, bakery items, coffee brewing, and blended products.
  • Participates in all sales promotions effectively and efficiently.
  • Safely handles all hot and cold drinks during drink preparation.
  • Maintains the highest quality, consistent product standards.
  • Follows all Company drink recipes and procedures.
  • Passes re-certifications in a timely manner.

Barista's Role in Customer Service:

  • Greets all customers with fast, friendly, personalized service.
  • Reports all customer complaints to the Managing Partner on duty.
  • Responds proactively to prevent negative customer service situations.
  • Accurately rings sales orders into the cash register and counts back change to customers in a courteous and friendly manner.
  • Answers telephone in a courteous and friendly manner including, but not limited to, giving store greeting, directions to store location, and receiving and filling customer orders.
  • Answers customer questions regarding coffee blends, preparation, and product freshness.

Barista's Commitment to Creating a Top Quality Environment:

  • Provides superior services and promotes a friendly, comfortable environment by providing fast and friendly service.
  • Restocks shelves, when necessary.
  • Routinely cleans the bar area, floor, windows and grinders, and takes out trash.
  • Reports potential safety hazards to the Managing Partner .
  • Reports all employee accidents to the Managing Partner .
  • Informs the Managing Partner of any operational inconsistencies.

Other Requirements, Qualifications & Physical Demands

  • Works special events, as needed.
  • Must successfully complete Company training in espresso, bean, brew and tea classes.
  • Experience in retail/specialty store or food establishment preferred.
  • Excellent verbal skills.
  • Well-organized and detail-oriented.
  • Register and cash handling experience.
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, talk and hear
  • Frequently required to use hand to finger motions, handle or feel objects, and reach with hands and arms.
  • Regularly required to lift and/or move items up to 30 pounds.
  • Vision requirements: close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust and focus.
  • Regularly required to handle food and hot beverages.
  • Must be available for opening, closing, and Saturday shifts.
