ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
The Survey Research/Geographic Information System Technician is responsible for recognizing problems on the city's rights-of-way, mapping the city's stormwater drainage system with accurate measurements transferred to scale drawings, and keeping up-to-date zoning mapping. The Survey Research/GIS Technician also maintains the GIS system for recording street data and, at the director's discretion, conducts accurate on-site measurements of all the city's streets, as well as all other duties assigned.
ACCEPTABLE EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING: High School Education plus specialized training and/or job experience in a specific skill area such as data processing, clerical/ administrative, equipment operation, etc., plus two years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
