Location: Lehman College - School for Continuing and Professional Studies

When: July 6th-August 14th

Salary: $18 per hour

Status: Part-time

Schedule: Must have a flexible schedule to work AFTERNOONS (4x per week: 2pm-6pm—Monday-Thursday)

General Description:

We are looking for dependable, energetic, and highly attentive Lifeguards to join our Summer Camp team at Lehman College for our 6-week program. You will be responsible for ensuring the safety of students in our aquatic facility by actively patrolling the pool area, enforcing safety regulations, and responding to emergencies.

Responsibilities

  • Actively patrol the pool deck and aquatic area, enforcing safety rules and regulations
  • Scan the water for swimmers in distress and respond appropriately
  • Perform rescue procedures as needed, ensuring the safety of patrons
  • Maintain a clean and safe pool environment
  • Provide first aid and CPR to patrons in need
  • Communicate effectively with patrons, staff, and supervisors
  • Maintain accurate logs and documentation
  • Provide prompt and efficient service to summer campers and staff.
  • Participate in meetings as appropriate

Required Qualifications

  • Current American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification or equivalent
  • Current CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer certification (must be issued within 1 year of obtaining certification)
  • Prior lifeguarding experience
