Job Description

College of Southern Nevada is seeking a dedicated and dynamic part-time instructor to teach a20-day period, non-credit math preparation course for two hours per daydesigned for students enrolling in Math 124E or Math 126E. The instructor will guide students through fundamental algebraic concepts and enhance their mathematical vocabulary, ensuring they are prepared for more rigorous coursework.

Key Responsibilities

  • Foster asupportive learning environmentthat encourages student participation and conceptual understanding.

  • Utilize avariety of instructional strategies, including problem-solving, guided practice, and real-world applications.

  • Assess students' progress and provideconstructive feedbackto build confidence and competence.

  • Support students in strengthening their skills inintegers, fractions, decimals, graphing, linear equations, inequalities, and exponents.

  • Collaborate with relevant faculty and academic advisors to ensure the curriculum aligns with Math 124E and Math 126E expectations.

  • Maintain accurate attendance records and provide course-related reports as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree(or higher) in Mathematics, Education, or a related field.

  • Teaching experiencein mathematics at the high school or collegiate level (preferred).

  • Strong ability to communicatecomplex mathematical conceptsin an accessible manner.

  • Familiarity with instructional strategies that support diverse learners, including those with different proficiency levels.
