To thrive as a Part Time Summer Nanny, you need experience in childcare, knowledge of child development, and often CPR/first aid certification. Familiarity with scheduling apps, communication tools, and basic safety or educational resources is useful. Strong soft skills include patience, creativity, and effective communication with both children and parents. These abilities ensure a safe, engaging, and supportive environment for children while building trust with families.

Responsibilities and Duties
WHO/WHAT: Are you the kind of person who can turn a big transition into an exciting adventure? Can you sense when a child needs extra patience, an imaginative distraction, or simply a reassuring presence? This beloved returning East Wind Nannies family is searching for the next special person to join their team after several wonderful years with their current nanny, who is only moving on because she's looking for full-time hours.
Your afternoons will begin by picking up an energetic, funny, and wonderfully creative five-year-old from kindergarten each Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at noon. School is just six or seven minutes from home, so before you know it, you'll be back for lunch, crafts, imaginative games, outdoor play, and whatever adventures the afternoon inspires. Fridays are flexible, so if you can only commit to Monday and Wednesday, the family would still love to hear from you! Additional hours during school breaks, occasional Tuesdays or Thursdays, and even close to full-time hours in the summer are available for a nanny looking for a little extra work.
This sweet girl is entering a season filled with change. Until now, she's enjoyed slow, relaxed mornings with her longtime nanny before heading off on adventures. Kindergarten-and saying goodbye to someone she loves-is a big adjustment, so these parents are hoping to find someone who can help make afternoons feel safe, fun, and familiar. She has a huge imagination and can happily spend hours creating art, building elaborate worlds, inventing stories, or making up silly songs. She also has plenty of energy and loves staying busy, while Mom and Dad are much more go-with-the-flow personalities who appreciate bringing calm to the excitement.
Household responsibilities are light and centered around keeping life running smoothly. You'll help tidy up after the day's activities, assist with anything related to their daughter, and occasionally let their friendly little dog outside. A reliable vehicle and clean driving record are required for school pickup.
This family has been an absolute joy to work with, and they're hoping to find another nanny who feels like part of the family for years to come. If you love helping children navigate big milestones while making everyday afternoons feel magical, APPLY today!
THE IDEAL NANNY IS... A STEADY PRESENCE! You're the kind of person who doesn't get rattled by big feelings because you understand they're just part of growing up. Patient, nurturing, and dependable, you know when to offer a hug, when to redirect with a craft project, and when a silly made-up song can solve almost anything. You're flexible enough to roll with whatever the afternoon brings, yet consistent enough to provide the routines that help children feel secure. Creative play comes naturally to you, and you genuinely enjoy stepping into a child's imaginary world. Most importantly, you're reliable, kind, trustworthy, and excited to help a sweet little girl build confidence as she begins this exciting new chapter of kindergarten. If that sounds like you, we'd love to meet you-APPLY today!
