Engagement Marketer (Part Time)

Grid

San Francisco, CA

$80K - $115K/yr

Part-time

Job description

About us
Today’s financial system is built to favor those with money. Grid’s mission is to level that playing field by building financial products that help users better manage their financial future. The Grid app lets users access cash, build credit, spend money, optimize their taxes, and lots, lots more.

Grid is a fast-growing team that’s deeply passionate about making a difference in the lives of millions. We’re solving huge problems and believe that every team member has a big role to play. Come join our growing team in our brand new Seattle office!

The role
We’re looking for an Engagement Marketer to help us design and run campaigns that activate, retain, and delight our existing customers across all Grid products.

This is a hands-on, builder role for someone who sits at the intersection of creativity and analytics — someone who loves coming up with compelling engagement ideas and also measuring what actually works.
You’ll own the strategy and execution of engagement campaigns across email, push notifications, and in-app experiences, including challenges, competitions, and reward-driven programs that drive real user value and measurable ROI.

This role is in-person in San Francisco, part-time contract (10–20 hours/week), with a clear path to full-time for the right person.

The team
We're focused on serving our users and building a robust product above all else. To this end, Grid's team members experience high levels of autonomy and ownership, and as a company we value curiosity, learning and growth.
What you'll do
  • Design and launch engagement campaigns across email, push, and in-app.
  • Own lifecycle messaging strategy to drive activation and retention.
  • Run A/B tests on messaging, incentives, timing, and channels.
  • Analyze performance and ROI across all engagement efforts.
  • Use behavioral data to identify patterns and growth opportunities.
  • Partner with Product, Engineering, and Support teams.
  • Build repeatable playbooks for challenges, promotions, and launches.
What we're looking for:
  • Core traits
  • Creative + analytical mindset.
  • Strong sense of ownership and initiative.
  • Deep customer empathy.
  • Experience & skills
  • Experience in engagement, lifecycle, or retention marketing.
  • Hands-on with email and push notification campaigns.
  • Comfort with analytics, dashboards, and basic SQL or spreadsheets.
  • Familiarity with experimentation and A/B testing.
  • Strong written communication skills.
  • Comfort working with CRMs and marketing automation tools.
  • Interest in consumer financial services is a plus.
Why this role is special
  • Work on products used by millions.
  • Real ownership over strategy and execution.
  • Shape how Grid builds long-term user relationships.
  • Opportunity to grow into a full-time leadership role.
This is a contractor role with a clear path to full-time employment. Conversion into full-time roll would result in:
